Once you start buying boxes it starts adding up REAL fast. Plus, when you buy a box the per cigar cost is MUCH lower. Especially if you live in a state with high tobacco taxes or if you can catch a good sale.

http://lh6.google.com/DichotomyX/RspF7XCqZwI/AAAAAAAAARY/p3rbn0t4qlw/s800/newhumi.jpg

and a desktop... I'm gonna work on consolidating them (if I can get the humi I'm looking at for a good price) and I'll post pics once I do.

It'd be cool as hell to get all this stuff consolidated!

Here's my humble little humi after about 9 months in. It's a few shorter of those Occidental yard gars (pretty bad) as I've been making room for some stuff that is on the way.

My next step will be a small vino and a few boxes. I've got my cleats on and am resisting the big slip down the slope.

This is my closet humi. still in transformation (holidays have slowed me putting up the shelving, but fully operational still) deminsions are 8' wide, 2' deep and 9' tall. Most of my cash latley has gone to building my lounge, enlarging my rv gate and Christmas. So I have hopes to fill it one day :fl:ss

Just wanted to say that I love this thread. I get a real kick out of seeing everyone's humidor photos.

You can really tell from the way people store their sticks just how much they love, and have invested themselves (and their money) in this hobby. And when the contents are revealed . . . WOW!!! Even if it is a cooler (have one myself), you can tell that the contents are prized possessions, carefully placed in their resting place for a better day.

Good stuff!

More photos, please!

Here are most of them -

http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii261/8652150149/DSCF5629.jpg

The top shelf (Romeo y Julieta cabinet humidor) has all singles and premium NCs.

The second shelf (new Romeo y Julieta mystery humidor - click here if you can identify it. (http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=7181) ) is seasoning now. It will most likely hold single CC's.

The third shelf (glass top) holds CC singles. Also on that shelf are 15 and 5 count Cigar Caddies.

The bottom shelf on the left was my uncle's that he gave to me and it is currently seasoning and will become the mooch-a-dor.

On the right is a small humi that doesn't seal well and is holding accessories. Above that is a 5 Vegas humi that I won in a FRH contest. It is a dry box.

Not pictured -

2 120 qt Igloo cooleradors, craftsman's bench tacklebox style travel humi, (2) three finger leather cases and 2 nice looking, small but unfortunately aromatic cedar lined humis that are just for show.

I somehow knew i'd get a reaction on the Gil Hibbens MK being in the picture. It is great home protection, just hope I never have to use it. Brooklyn's okay, just crowded. I'm in Bensonhurst, which is more Chinese and Mexican than Italian mafioso now-a-days, but still has a really low property crime rate.

I am lucky, I seem to be somewhere between Icehog and Dave K. If I got rid of my coolers, I would have to build a walk-in. Which is not a bad idea, but I am a pretty mobile individual, so it's coolers until I get my down payment together to buy one of these cheap homes. Coolers don't photograph well, I'm afraid. I was about to plop down 285 for a 4foot high Vinotemp at Best Buy, and then I realized that's an awfully brave thing to do to take care of a fraction of your cigars. To be honest, for abut the cost af a couple good hauls from overseas, you can get one of these MONSTER 1500 bottle self contained electronic "Wine Cellars." Check out Lowe's dot com. Scary.

My "Tabacalera Perdomo" 20 ct humis. I received both of these as part of CI's "8 Sticks and a 20 count humi for $15 deal." I ordered one in November and one in December.

Closed view of the first one. These bad boys have a great (almost "too good") seal.

Open view of the second one. The sticks in there are Perdomo in Vidrio. My brother-in-law and his wife just had a baby, so I'm gonna trick the tubes out with "It's a Boy" labels and put them back in the presentation box and gift them to him. He gifted me my first "good" cigars ever, an almost full box of La Gloria Cubana Series R No. 5 Maduros.

careful with that thing. Those slant tray humis often times create a greater risk for damaging the feet of "un-celloed" cigars if you aren't super careful with them!

It has been a while since I have posted my setup so I thought I would give an update:
1422
The bottom one is for long term storage. It is at 68-70% rh. There are still a couple of boxes in there that I grab things from occasionally, but I am trying only go in there once a week or so.

The top one is for NCs and single CCs. That one I am keeping at 63-65% rh.

FWIW, your long term storage should be at a lower RH than your "go to" sticks. Long term for me is kept at 58-63%.

One less problem for me, fortunately my wife has never seen the need for china! I hope she doesn't read this and change her mind about china.

That still won't help me with the cabinet acquisition though.. I can dream.

Ok.. so I thought I would put a little primer on this.. Back in April on my way home from Baghdad, I picked up a box of 10 RyJ Churchill Tubos..

El Monstruo - 140RG 9 inches long.

SmokeyNL was talking about it in chat one day. I bought it because just look at that thing.... I'll smoke it at a herf some day... it's "aging" right now. I figure something that big needs about 20 years to age before it's primed.

When you recharge the beads, they should only be 50-70% clear (wet) - less if you are in a humid climate. If there is that much excess water, you have added way too much.

They're Frigidaire wine coolers that I built drawers into.
I used to have them sitting side by side, but I stacked them up this time around. :)

Scott, I've always been curios what cigars those are in the jars on top. It reminds me of a candy shop :D

Any particular reason you favor the humi jars vs holding singles in various cigar boxes?

They're CAO Flavours. A bunch of different kinds.
I always keep them filled up so there's something for non-cigar smokers to smoke when they're around. :)

They used to be on a couple shelves above my wine coolers.
I moved them into the displayador for the time being. I'll continue to use them for flavored cigars but I'll ultimately get rid of most of them.
I'm not at all a "various cigar box" fan. I generally put my cigars in drawers or jars just because I think they look much better that way.
I don't know why I don't like the Tetris look. Too busy maybe?
I do like my Fuente boxes though. :)

I've been thinking about getting some of the Flavours for my wife and any of the other women who may want to hang out on the deck and smoke with the guys, but don't like 'regular' cigars. Which flavours are the best, which to avoid?

My wifes favorites are the CAO Eileens Dreams, and the Tatiana Cappucino. The Eileens Dreams I believe are Irish Cream Flavored..

The Karmasutrasplash is really good. Eileen's Dream (I just smoked one tonight) and the Cherry Bombs are really good, too.
You have to get the tubos though. The pc's and robustos are disgusting. About an inch in and they all taste like burning tires.
The tubos hold up through the whole smoke.
If you'd be good enough to pm me your address, I'll be happy to send her a couple of each kind so she can try them out. :)

Scott as usual is spot on. My wife only cares for the tubos.

Shilila, nice setup or should I say setups. Not sure which I envy more, the humis or that it looks like you have your own man cave with two TVs stacked and all your goodies accompanying them. I am assuming your running l.e.d in the cabinet for lighting. This is hopefully my next project for my end table humi and was hoping you could share how you did the lighting.

Everything I have is man-cave. It's cause I'm not married. :tu
I used cold cathode lighting powered by a computer power supply. I made a thread somewhere...
Here it is. (http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=8958&page=2)
I finished the lights, added a couple individually controlled hydras, and put three fans in powered at 5 volts so they spin nice and easy.
I took pics but haven't updated the thread yet.
