Actually he put in one #1 and two #3's but I'm just being pedantic. You are correct, the one that was taken was the #1. Also, the RyJ that was just put in is the "Mille fleur" just wanted to correct the spelling in case someone tried to look it up.

Cole, you wanna canvass the guys and see who's in for round 2 so I know who to get it to? I mapped out the participants so it'd move efficiently geographically. There's no reason it couldn't change, but the first round went super fast, mail-wise. Plus Matt carrying it to Mark really helped.

Scott, I'll be sending out PM's for folks that need to get in entry sticks and to see if everyone wants in the 2nd round of the pass.

As for the logistics, I d not see any problems with the pass going the same route it went the last time. I think we all got access to some pretty awesome sticks, and probably would no matter what order the pass went in, but that's just my :2

Also, the shipping costs are a little higher, but this is a high quality pass, so I'm not worried about the costs. I'm sure that, as we did last round, if we need to leave someone out or if someone needs a little help, that should be fine. I do like the idea of pulling out 6-7 sticks instead of 5. However, let's just make sure we are replacing with quality and not just quantity.

-Coach takes Green Bay and Houston, He is giving you 2 points with your pick of Atlanta and Tampa Bay (so from your post, if you lose by more than 2 points to him, you lose a 5'er plus 1 more for the 2 points he is spotting you, so you would owe 6. If you win or lose by 2 points or less, he pays a troop 5'er.

-He wants to go head to head with you in the FF week and spot you 6 points. If you win, or lose by 6 points or less, he pays a troop 5'er, if you lose by more than 6 points you owe a troop 5'er.

-If either you or him win both bets, the loser has to put in another troop 5'er and a personal 5'er to the other person.

I'm pretty sure Scott took it out...It may have been a losing battle doing things that way. No worries though, I have been keeping up with everyone's puts and takes and the pass each step with my spreadsheet on my comp. If anyone wants to see the spreadsheet just shoot me a PM with your email and I will send it out.

What I am going to do is each time it gets to me I will update everything and make sure we are all good to go. A lot of $$ floating around in the box, so it is good to just be sure what is in there an what is out of there. The only other thing I can say is the Lianos Dos Palmas Fuma Linda doesn't make the $8.00 minimum for premium cigars we set. (http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showpost.php?p=1717494&postcount=141) I don't know about the Tats, I have no idea how they're priced.
It's real important for us to keep the standards up in this pass, otherwise it was all for naught, ya know?

The Fuma Linda's were about $6 as a single, a little less as a bundle. I thought the difficulty in getting them (website does not work to purchase, kind of have to go there) might kick it up to the right level, but if I need to replace it with another I can. The tat's I thought would be kind of a 2 for one because of size being the reason they are less than $8 a stick, not quality. Let me know if I need to replace these and I sure will.

Mark, why don't you switch up the Lianos. I think the tats are ok, just write 2 for 1 on the package or something. Like you are taking the PLPC's for the 1 party, i think someone could take the Tat's 2 for 1 of something else.

Anyway, I think if you pull the Lianos, and replace with something else there wouldn't be any problems. As Scott mentioned, we are trying to stay premium in the pass. We just want to make sure that the next rounds as this keeps going we keep this pass premium to keep it worth the price tag of shipping and insurance costs.

The last two years I won 2nd place in FB and FF and just cherry picked a few sticks I liked, then took a few "lesser" sticks to clean up the first place guys winnings so they got a badass first place prize. I think Matt was pretty happy about his haul last year. :)
This year we have 3 places, so it's going to be tougher to divide sticks evenly. If I make it to the final game I'll just concede like the last two times. That Jarrod/Jeremy tie thing totally sucks, is what I'd like to say about the matchups of the week. :)

1.) What it boils down to, one of the top five is getting kicked out and four will remain for the playoffs.
If Jarrod and I lose, I'm in, he's out.
If I lose and Jarrod wins, he's in, I'm out.

2.) I ground my brains on this really hard, and no other combinations of win/lose matter.
Four of the top five are matched up. Two have to win, they're in.
The other two can lose and a win by Jarrod or I will bump the loser with the lower total season points for a spot if we win. Goes right back to 1.)

I had to win 8 in a row last year to get in the cigars.
One win in the playoffs guarantees 20 cigars, so that's cool. Then the two losers fight for 10 cigars while the two winners fight over 10 more. :)

Yahoo only shows the teams 5-8 playing in the consolation bracket. Do you think we should include everyone (asked to everyone)? If so, how should we do scores?

Ideas:
-Top two teams (no head to head) from this week play next week for "winner of losers bracket"?
-Top two teams (no head to head, BUT, 5th place gets spotted 25 points, 6th, 20 points, 7th 15 points, 8th 10 points, 9th 5 points, 10th 0 points) gives everyone a chance at it?

I'm not sure how this more simple. :tf If we split into two groups of 3 teams, then it is possible that all 3 teams from one group would score higher than the others. Under this sort of arrangement it is possible to have the highest scoring team playing against the 4th highest, leaving the 2nd highest scoring team out.

I had thought the highest two scorers of the bottom 6 teams should play next week for the championship. Cole's idea just improved on that by allowing one more team in next week, and I'm good with that. Great idea.

The way I mentioned could be set up inside Yahoo and it'd do everything automatically, not that we need to do it that way.
Cole has been taking care of all the Commish duties, and doing a damn fine job of it. He's gonna take care of the whole loser's bracket thing, so I'm 100% behind him, however he wants to do it.

We're gonna try it just like Cole mentioned, see how it plays out, and then make note here so we can squish it into the ever-expanding rulebook next year. :)

I love the idea of keeping this going at least one more pass before the end of the season...then, I think Scott (speaking from total assumptions) has room to keep the sticks in good shape until the next season starts.

As for what to do with the pass for the next go round...I suggest a few things (please weigh in and let Scott know which would be better):
1.) I sent Scott the Excel file that has all the sticks listed on it...it has his remaining sticks listed on it, and which ones were taken in the first two passes...I suggest he take out the remaining sticks from his original puts, because the pass is starting to take fine shape now with everyone dropping a couple extra sticks in each go round.
2.) Have Scott leave everything in the pass except for his next round of puts and takes, but get a new styrofoam cooler and box, so we can fit more sticks in...this suggestion would require additional $$ for someone to ship the box insured.

There are goods and bads for each scenario...for #1, I want more of Scott's original sticks :D
#2, it costs more money to keep moving...

What an awesome FF league this was this year. Great parity and excellent competition.
It was crazy how I got just the right match ups at just the right times, getting just enough wins to slide in and pull one out of my ass.
Stephen and Jeremy had just the opposite luck. They'd have a great week and get hammered by someone who had their best game of the year. It must have been maddening for them.
I'm shocked that Matt and I ended up playing in the Super Bowl again. The odds for that to happen must have been a brazilian to one.
I am SO gonna miss this until next year, it was insanely fun!!!

I sent Cole the consolation bracket fiver that I donated at the beginning of the year. I split stuff up as evenly as possible, and in my prize there were only a handful I figured I'd smoke, so I sent the rest to Cole as a Thank You for running the league this year. He certainly deserves it, he's done a hell of a job with everything, including keeping excellent records on the Pass. Thank You, Cole!!! :tu

The final tally was:
25 sticks to Matt, our Champion.
9 sticks to me, Second Place.
10 to Scott for Third Place
21 to Cole for Consolation and Thank You's.

Ok, so I have the box pass, sorry I've been AWOL, and haven't gotten it out, but in any case it is packed up and I'm getting it in the mail. I didn't do any puts and takes, but I did go through the cigars to make sure everything looked ok.

Thanks Jeremy...we were all getting a little worried, but if this is going to move to Scott (Sofaman) all is well. After Scott, it goes back to Scott (Shilala) at that time, I will be doing another PM for anyone that wants to keep going with this. I wouldn't mind doing it one more time before we hang it up until the 2013 preseason.
