This is sad - seriously sad.

I was at a wrestling tournament today. I saw what happens to normally good wrestlers who have just gotten off the flu, (This is in no way an excuse for the Packers) and it was sad. By 1/2 way through the 2nd of three 2minute periods, guys were completely gassed and weak as a kitten. I can see how that might have affected their play.

Nice game, '9ers.

Packer's signed Bama running back Eddie Lacy. This will give us a smidge more depth in the back field along with Pease, Franklin, Harris, Lacy, Green, and Starks.

If the "O" line holds up, look out:tu

Any thoughts on this season thus far? A few if I may:

1. Alex Green cut. :r

2. We are starting a 21 year old 4th round rookie to protect the blindside of the franchise. Lord help us.

3. We need a backup quarterback. Stat.

4. Why is the current training/medical team still employed? Year in and year out the Packers are the most oft injured team in the league.

5. The defense may not stink the joint out this season. We have decent depth at every level (except linebacker, which is woefully thin) and should be significantly better at stopping the run.

6. I hope that Charles Johnson clears waivers and we sign him to the practice squad.

7. Alex Green cut. :r

Yowch! I am certainly glad the Packers are still in the hunt, especially considering the players missing. Offensive line needs work. Defense needs some work. Thankfully, they found a way to win the last two weeks.

Not sure it would be a good or a bad thing for them to get into the play-offs.

I think the last two weeks have been a good experience for the players filling-in for the injured, and there has been a good cohesiveness brewing among these players as well.

Having the Steelers in Lambeau this week should be a great tune-up for the current Packer offense, defense, and coaching staff.

I believe they will all be up for the play-offs, and with a little payback in mind...

I have tickets to the game up for sale. I am not sure if I want them to sell or go with my son Nathan. I could go either way. If they sell, I make a little bit over what I paid for them. If I go, I get to throw snowballs at the game. ;)

Hey, a couple of pairs of long underwear, sweatshirts, big winter gloves, wool watch cap, jeans, a couple of pairs of socks, big winter jacket, one of those butt warmer pillows for your rear-end, and you're all set:tu

As for me, I'll just have to settle with DirectTV on Sunday. Next best thing to being there in person:D

Well, I am glad that Packers will be representing the NFC North in the playoffs. However, will they go anywhere other than to the locker room after the game?

I would love to have an answer for our defense, but that has been a problem for a few years now, they have been a sieve.

All the talk today is on whether Aaron Rogers is gay. I guess there's some back story to all this. Have these stories been in the press in your locale?

This comes from Aaron's Tuesday radio show where he was asked the pitfalls of celebrity. He answered in generalities and the "gay" question was never asked but just an example he used. It may have been said with tongue firmly in cheek.

"I really, really like women."

Dating Mila Kunis in the past, I would think qualifies his answer, cause she seems to be of the right gender. :D

So if there's a backstory, it hasn't shown up here.

They were making fun of the whole situation on two different radio stations this morning in Boston. When someone says something about him, no answer Aaron give is going stop speculation.

I had never heard of this until this morning either.

Lions 20 Packers 30

So, today we took the NFC North Division, and we have a bye. Not a bad game today. It may have been different if Rogers had been taken out of the game totally, but happy to see that he returned following halftime.

My big bone to pick for this game, the Packers were ahead of the Lions, 14 to 0 with some minutes remaining prior to the half. Its fourth down and the Lions are going for a 1st or TD, Stafford drops back to throw and releases wherein the pass was incomplete, but Packers Def End Datone Jones (#95) intentionally slaps Stafford on the helmet, drawing a flag from the ref, and giving the Lions another opportunity which they capitolize on with a TD. The Lions go into the locker room at the half with 7 points handed over to them due to Jones not holding it together.

That was irritating... Happy to see it turned around though and looking forward to the Packers playing again in two weeks...

I'd be upset about Suh stepping on Rodgers twice, seriously if you are backing up and you step on something your natural reaction is to pull your foot away and look to see what it was, unless you are stepping on something on purpose, then you make it a point to twist your foot? Suh is a scumbag, that being said I hope the Raiders sign him ASAP :D

Oh, I agree with you Adam. Suh potentially took a cheap shot on Rodgers bad leg, but it will come under review later by officials to ascertain if it was actually "intentional." You would think that if you did step on something, that you'd at least look down and possibly lift your foot.

We'll see how the Lions do against the Cowboys next week in Dallas:sl

I would. And so would you. And most other people.

But, this was exactly what I expect from Suh. I'm sure he'll deny knowledge of what he was doing, but I won't believe it for one second. 'Thug' is too kind a tag. He's (borderline?) psychopathic, and I'm sick at the thought of him getting a huge free agent payday.

AdamJoshua
12-29-2014, 09:09 AM
Dave ht isn't a psychopath, he's a throwback football player and not even that far back, 15-20 years ago that would have been incredibly minor and no one would have looked twice at it.

I didn't even think all too much about that incident yesterday....and I'm a Packer fan. I'm talking about Suh's entire body of work. I think maybe if you go back to some of the guys in the 60's or 70's you might find some similar players. But I don't recall anyone that seemed as intent on purposely injuring opponents.

Not so long ago it was a player's job to purposely injure other players.
It's never been cool to try to dish a career-ending injury, but it happened. Many times, intentionally.
That's tangential, Dave. But it's very true.

That said, Suh will be fined. And he should. Not only did he stand on Rodger's leg, he rocked his weight back on it and lifted the other foot.
He knew full well what he was doing, where he was standing, and why he was doing it. He's an excellent football player and he knows where everyone is on the field at any given time.
Maybe ending up on Rodger's leg was a happy coincidence, but he took full advantage of it.

I don't think Suh falls under "psychopath" at all. I think he falls under childishly stupid.
I'd be willing to bet Aaron Rodgers would far rather have him on his team than have to play against him. :D

Football has always been a tough game, and I have no problem with the physical and mental components of the game. To go beyond that and perform an "intentional act" on a helpless player is unacceptable. Happy to hear on the radio this afternoon that Suh was suspended.

Wow! Total collapse.

Couldn't punch it in on a couple of Seahawk turnovers early in the game for 6.

Jordy Nelson losing a pass in the end zone.

#42 Burnett for GB catches a tipped pass for an INT, but only runs a short ways, and then goes for the slide? I don't understand that. Are you not suppose to gain as many yards as possible on an INT?

#86 Bostick jumping up to attempt to catch the onside kick, and for some reason, lets the ball hit him in the helmet? Was he afraid of getting injured if he catched it?

I guess that's my only gripes. It was a great game up until the end and for some reason, the pressure was taken off the Seahawks.

Congratulations to the Seahawks and their fans. You deserve going to Phoenix:tu

I'm thoroughly disgusted with Green Bay.
5 field goals. Couldn't take advantage of 4 Wilson picks. Lose in overtime.
They just played uninspired football on offense. The D was monster until they got gassed, and that sure wasn't their fault. They gave the offense the ball more than often enough to keep them fresh.

Agreed he appears to be a good cat.... Though I'll say it, the "God is great" and he looked out for them bla...bla....bla is a super turn off for me. I'm not a religious man, but I'm confident that his God could not care less about the Seahawks vs Packers and their respective players.

I was a big Hawk fan. Great guy, no question. Not entirely fair, but I always felt just a little disappointed in his play. He was solid, when I wanted spectacular, I guess. Seems his name was never called on a tackle for a loss. Schemes weren't meant for him to be that penetrating LB that I wanted him to be. I do wish him the best and believe he's got a couple more good years in him....hopefully somewhere other than NFC North.

Solid is the word. His name wasn't called too often on the big plays, but it also wasn't called on the stupid penalties. He's like the solid offensive line guy who's name never gets called. That's not necessarily a bad thing.

Nice guy and a fan favorite when it came to interacting with the fans. My son was into painting and sketching the Packers players when he first came to GB. I actually have an original canvas he did of AJ that he was kind enough to autograph. My son also did some pencil sketches that AJ proudly displays in his mancave.

I was a big Hawk fan. Great guy, no question. Not entirely fair, but I always felt just a little disappointed in his play. He was solid, when I wanted spectacular, I guess. Seems his name was never called on a tackle for a loss.
That's because his football IQ was severely lacking, something which was supposed to be one of his strong suits coming out of tOSU. If a tackle was needed eight yards past the line of scrimmage, Hawk was your guy.

I do wish him the best and believe he's got a couple more good years in him....hopefully somewhere other than NFC North.
He wasn't even starting for a team that starved for inside linebacker play and had no depth to provide it. I pray he lands on the Vikings squad, where it seems old Packers go to pasture.

For no rational reason, I'm excessively saddened that Abbrederis suffered another concussion yesterday. I know that he may never even start, but I really want for him to be successful in GB and this news just sort of distresses me a little more than it should.

Unreal box score:
Combined passer stats:

59 of 94 for 918 yards!! 4 TD's and zero INT's.

Unfortunately, it wasn't on here, either....had to follow the little football up and down the field on ESPN's app thingy

And the bye came at a perfect time. They're the walking wounded out there (the most injured team in football, AGAIN), and a week off will do some good to get these guys healthy (healthier).

Anyone see anything even a little bit positive about last night? Shocking to me that Rodgers was probably as big a problem as any. Was he hung over? Almost like he was playing scared. Scared to throw an interception. Scared he was going to get hit (understandably.) Scared (or unwilling or unable) to accurately read defense and change up the call. I'm a big Rodgers fan, but that performance was pathetic. As were the lines, and the secondary. I have to wonder if we won't look back and think that 6-0 against lousy teams meant nothing. I'm not panicking, but I can't believe I'm nervous about having to face the Vikings twice yet.

One thing for sure, we got our a $$' handed to us by Denver. Denver came ready to play and the Packers looked anything but ready.

Props to the Broncos D for keeping the Packers O off balanced and out of sync. Heck of a job. The Packers were simply out played by a more motivated team, and possibly healthier team too.

I agree with you Dave, there were many times the cameras were on A.Rodgers, and he looked like a deer caught in the headlights of an on coming truck. That truck being the Denver D...

Denver's secondary is stout, guys.
Their D is nothing to sneeze at, across the board.
With nobody open, what's a brother to do? You gotta get tired of getting squashed.
And, as Stephen said, you gotta be healthy if you're gonna stand up against a team like the Broncos.
The game was kind of a rip-off. If everyone was healthy, it had all the makings of one hell of a game.

"We had an opportunity for a pitch-and-catch touchdown, and I got scared by something. I can't explain. It was a mistake for me, and something I'll think about on the ride home. I don't know who was in my face; all I know is I had Randall (Cobb) wide open for a touchdown." -- Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers

It went better in the second half. NFC North Division Champs is good.

I don't like the Giants coming into Lambeau, that hasn't gone well in the past. Although, it should be victory - if they play as they are able to play.

I agree. Second half much better. Liking what Ripkowski and Allison contributed in this period too. In fact, the entire team came together in that second half, considering some injuries that took place.

The only "minor" drawback was watching Schum perform a line drive (and not very far) punt, which went out of bounds within Packer territory, and wouldn't you know it, the Lions scored on their first possession. Geeez! Thank goodness, their (Lions) off-side was not successful.

Giants are going to present a challenge to the Packers, just as they did to the Cowboys, even though it hasn't gone well for the Packers in the past, I believe the momentum the Pack is carrying will see them through this coming Sunday.

Boy, I'd far rather get the Falcons. And the Pats were beatable in that Houston game.
Houston just didn't have any offense whatsoever to give them room, and Brady is ALWAYS gonna gash a secondary.
Talib and Denver's secondary were the only reason they didn't advance last year.
No long game, and that IS their game.
The Steelers have no answer for that unless Dupree makes Tom eat dirt all day.

Green Bay was awesome.
