Hey guys, with my current school schedule I don't always have time for a cigar, and I've been thinking about trying to find a decent short smoke for my 30-45 minute commute to and from school. I had a Tatuaje Petite Cazadores a few weeks ago on my way in, it lasted just long enough for my trip. I like the Illusione 68 as well, any other suggestions are much appreciated!

30-45 minutes is perfect time for a robusto for me. Here are some past suggestions that may help:

Tat petite cazadores and illusiones plus small cigar?

Dude... J. Fuego Origen Originals. 5 little perfectos in a paper pack for about 10-bucks online.

Great little cigars, right along the flavor profiles of the ones you listed.

Cabaiguan Petites.

If you want cheap, then go to Famous and look at the Rocky Patel Juniors that are in the 50 count cabinets.

Absolutely agreed. Those ugly little sticks pack a good punch with great earthy flavors. After the success of Origen 5-pack, Fuego released a similar 5'er for his corojo-wrapped cigars for the same price (Fuego Corojo No. 1 Original.) I haven't tried those, but I've read enough positive comments to put them on my to-buy list.

+1 Just picked up a 12 pack and these are dark espresso goodness! Another vote for AF Short Story.....incredible flavor and complexity for such a little smoke!

Tat Petite Cazadores Reserva...of all the small smokes in the cabinet, these are the ones that I keep going back to. Wonderful, spicy, complex....just a great short smoke.

I know some people here have talked about Robustos, but I don't know how someone can really enjoy a robusto in a 1/2 hour or less without burning through it at an accelerated rate. Don't push yourself to smoke a stick like that in that limited amount of time.

As an example, the Arturo Fuent Rothschild (4.5X5) that I smoked the other day, and really enjoyed, took me about and hour and fifteen minutes.

I would also concur with the following stick as being good choices:
Tatuaje Verocu No. 5
DPG Black Label Perlas
J Fuego Delerium Minutos

Peace of the Lord be with you.

Famous-smoke Final Blend robusto.

I smoked one last night - my new favorite cheap smoke.

Buy whatever size you can find, at $40 a box on the cigarauctioneer you could smoke 1/2 a churchill and toss it when you have it.

A Robusto is usually at least an hour smoke for me...I'll be picking up a few of the Fuente Short Stories and the DPG black label perlas if I can find them. A friend gave me a black label a few weeks ago and I really enjoyed that blend.

I like the idea of the RASCC, I've only had one RA and it was given to me by a friend, but I think they may be a little hard to come by in Florida...

Stopped at Smoke Inn yesterday, picked up a Fuente Short Story, Illusione Epernay Petite, Tat La Riqueza Petite Robusto, and two Tat Havana VI Verocu No5s.

I lit up the La Riqueza yesterday and it lasted a little bit longer than my drive, which ended up being a good thing since I met up with Superbad for a little while, so I think even the Petite Robusto is a little too much stick for the commute.

Im looking forward to trying the Short Story, but think it might be a little too pricey to be a regular commute cigar. At 4.25 a stick, I have a feeling the Tat Verocu might be just what I was looking for...

That's because it would seem that you have not embraced the box purchase mindset yet.
You can get them cheaper than that, although the place I just looked is just under 120 a
box, so that's not less than 4.25 ea. But you can find em by the box cheaper online here
and there. The Short Story is a fine cigar. Tell Superbad I said hi. :)

For a milder/cheaper smoke, I like the 5 Vegas Gold Nuggets - 4.5x44.

I've also been smoking Jameson Declaration lately - the Screaming Eagle is 4x44.

I've embraced the box purchases...the wife, not so much... I'll probably end up with a box of the Verocu's though, since I may be buying quite a few it'd make sense to buy the box and get them at a discount.
