They are still taking orders for a second wave as posted on their site.

As I learned from last years NHC Drac-off you had to be logged into your account already and have payment/shipping info saved or else you had no chance. Same thing happened today.

This is exactly what I did. I think I had the box in my cart and completely checked out about 15-20 seconds after they were posted.

ZThis was ridiculous. At 12:00 I had them in my cart and at 12:01 they were sold out. Shocking.

I agree. Same thing happened to be with the skull and bones, now The Face box. I really want a 10 cnt box of these, but I have almost given up at this point.

Jump on those Face at MSRP. The rip off shops are out there making it impossible to support your local B&M. My local shop quoted me $200 for the 10 ct. Absolutely crazy, but someone will buy them unfortunately.

Last year I got a box of the Drac's that I split with a buddy I deployed to Iraq with. This year the shop said they were not sure if they would get them so I had all but given up. Today I saw the number on my caller ID 3 hours before I got home from work. I figured I probably missed out but called anyway. They said they knew I would call back and held one of the last two boxes for me and to pick it up today or tomorrow if I wished. I was there in 15 min. Now that's a shop that will always have my business!!! :salute:

It's a shop that had a Pete Johnson event this past weekend. I'm sure they're capitalizing off of that.

That's ridiculous. I would never step foot in that B&M again and I'd tell the owner exactly that. That place wont last long. I missed out on getting the face, but hopefully, someone here will be selling a couple. I really want 2 or 3.

Did they have this pricing when Pete was there or did they jack the price after he left? As per Petes earlier post I would be surprised if they charged that the night of the event but I guess anything is possible.

MiamiE
10-21-2010, 06:59 AM
They had a dress box the night of the event. I showed up ONLY for this purpose, to buy the dress box since I was sure Pete would have brought them. Turns out the sealed box was not for sale and they had one Face in a few retarded sampler packs they were trying to sell for $125. That was the only way to get it. No 10 ct boxes were available till this week when everyone else got them.

and hence Pete would not be there to see the ridiculous pricing. I hate B&Ms that take advantage.

I paid $17.48 a stick(227.26) for a dress box shipped. I was informed that was MSRP + Tax + Shipping. I know for a fact that I was overcharged for shipping(the shipping label was on the box)...and I assume tax was bumped a bit as well....

In the end, I don't feel like I was taken.... I just feel like I paid what I needed to, to get a box of cigars that I wanted to pick up. Sure, $180 to my door would be nice....but probably an unrealistic expectation for me.

Please note that taxes vary WIDELY from state to state. Here in NY they just upped the tobacco tax to 75% of the wholesale price, which would add $4.88 to a stick that retails at $13, bringing it to $17.88. That's what I paid, plus 8.6% sales tax. Gotta love the government.

I hear ya man.. I'm in NY as well, the Government is making it really difficult for the b&m's to stay in business...

I am still trying to get my hands on a box. I'm hoping my luck will turn around soon.

The one B&M I was counting on decided that they were going to break up the boxes and sell the Face in a sampler with a few other cigars I already have and/or have no interest in buying.

Sorry, when I stated those prices I should have said most states. Now states like NY and CA, we all know you need to lube up most times before going to your local due to taxes.:D One of the things I really really don't miss about living in NY.

Ya NY sucks but there are places like others mentioned selling them for $20 a stick and this is a place that gets Pete in to help promote their shop, stores like that should be ashamed of themselves.

errr sorry $29 tax total on 23 sticks. 1 dress box and one regular box. That and $9 shipped to me, so $38 over 23 sticks...almost an extra $2 a stick.

It's interesting that more people are talking about finding them and not about how they are smoking. Reviews I have seen seem positive but not blown away. I did grab a couple boxes, so I hope they live up to the price. There a lot of great $13-15 sticks out there.

You know, now that you say that I realize I'm a lot more inclined to spend around $15 on a Tatuaje limited release cigar than I am to spend $15 on an Opus X. Not sure how I justify the Tats for that price easier than I do the Opus X :p

If you think like me it's because an Opus needs to sit 2 to 3 years to be enjoyable where most Tats are good right out of the box.

If anyone is interested in a box for 10 for an expensive price a b&m near me still has one available. I passed on this because I found them cheaper elsewhere but just throwing it out there if anyone is interested... they probably won't ship it but i could easily pick it up for someone.

Well, yeah, that's true. What I meant really was that I'll balk at paying that much for a cigar if it's an Opus, but not think twice about throwing down that money for a limited edition Tat.

It's just one of the many types of monetary decisions I make regarding cigars that don't make sense :sh :r:r
