Are you referring to that nasty hit near the side line by Nelson? Looked like it hurt! Sorry your guy got injured - I really do hate that - but last time I checked, hitting in bounds was still legal. It wasn't cheap at all... just a solid hit. Oh... And according to replay that late hit call was complete BS.

As for hoping that Jericho Nelson has a season ending injury... Well, that's just low, dude. Seriously, man.

Yep...thats the one I am referring too. It was dirty. That close to the end of the game, with that kind of lead-- dropping the helmet and putting all you have into a player that is 1 step from out of bounds and obviously running out is uncalled for. Period. It was legal, but unnecessary.

Maybe low for me to wish that on him, but it was low for him to make that hit, like that. A shove would have been plenty sufficient. I am sorry if you disagree.

Yeah, we will see. Honestly, I am more realistic than most SC fans. I do not see them winning against Florida and if they play like they did yesterday, they will get rolled by Clemson. Hell...if it were not for the win vs Alabama, they would not even be ranked right now. A lot of questionable calls by the coaching staff this season and that fake punt takes the cake as the most rediculous call this year. Not sure what the coaching staff was thinking.

On a positive note, the Tide slipping brings them closer to the kid for the bowl game. Orlando or Tampa is looking about right now, unless we were to somehow get an at large bid to a BCS bowl. But I don't think that's gonna be possible at this point.

So you contend that players should stop giving 100% b/c they are winning and time is winding down? Sorry... I completely disagree there. You seem to contend that since we were up and time is running out that our defense should chance a long sideline run from your team. Say Nelson lays up and goes for the shove... your boy cuts and gets passed him... Then what? See? So what, Nelson hit him hard. That's part of the game. Nelson undoubtedly feels bad for the guy being hurt, but that is also a risk of the game. There was no animosity there, no attempt to hurt the kid, just a solid hit. It wasn't dirty -- It was in bounds, legal contact, and in the play (not away from it). Hits aren't dirty b/c the other team is winning and the clock is winding down.

Players are coached to ALWAYS give 100% and to never lay up and to not take the chance on giving away the ground.

Don't be sorry for disagreeing with me... We can disagree and be friends. Be sorry that you're wishing ill upon a player who was doing his job b/c your boy got hurt doing his.

...on a side note, WTF happened to Florida? The whole game, they played like SC normally does in the second half. I think the hurry up offense was a bad idea and bouncing around 3 QBs just seemed to cause a lot of confusion.

Glorious day in college football yesterday. Arkansas stomped UTEP (as expected) 58 - 21 (our 4th quarter second string always seems to give up a TD). And Tennessee raped Ole Miss 52-14. Oh how glorious it is when Arkansas wins and Houston Nutt gets humiliated.

That UTEP kickoff return was crazy. Made me question if a huge upset was in store. Then...Arkansas decided to quit screwing around and play football.

I love it anytime Tennessee loses.

Yeah, our special teams are real "special" lol. They've given up major yardage all year. Kinda irritated me... but I knew that UTEP wouldn't do much of anything the rest of the game. We really need to work on our coverage and tackling on special teams.

Not a Tenn fan at all! But as much as I dislike them... I LOATHE Houston Nutt more. So I'll root for anyone to beat him. lol

Florida played like crap, how we've been playing most of the year frankly, and definitely don't deserve to be in Hotlanta.

I still love my Gator boyz but we might have well just headed to the locker room after returning the open kick off :sad

I think we're going to find that the school who gets in trouble will actually be Miss. St. Afterall....they held back all the information they really had in the initial report to the NCAA. Why? Because it appears they were still recruiting Cam after they were made aware of his father's scheme.

No doubt. I thought Nutt was gonna dig into his sack of weasels and pull that one out. I think the best game I've watched in a while was Arkie-Miss St. that was just an entertaining game. Arkie tried everything they could to give that game away.

Yeah we did... but Miss St. deserves a lot of credit. They abused the major weakness that we've had all season. They also came in with the 6yrd game plan (run 6yrds, stop, run 6 all the way down the field) to burn our defense out (6min at a time on the field) and limit our offensive possession. This they executed to perfection...

The stupid penalties and fumbles HAVE to stop.

From the outsider's perspective this was an excellent game to watch. From a Razorback fan's perspective it was a heart pounding, ulcer giving, nail biter.

I agree and would add that each assessment is based on coaching. Mullen was/is a better coach = executed a great gameplan. Petrino has a team that turns the ball over and gets penalties. The W came from Arkansas having better players

I shed a tear every time I see Mullen coach, he has a great offensive mind. The difference can clearly be seen at UF when we went from Mullen to Addazio at Offensive Coordinator.

My darkest fear is that Richt hangs on for one more year at UGA, Mullen continues to do well at State and Georgia hires him :hn

I'm sitting at my local shop, and there's a customer who just walked in that comes in who's an Alabama grad and his son even played basketball for the Tide, so needless to say, they're rabid Bama fans. We stuck up a friendship through cigars when I ran the store about a year ago and he's introduced me to Richard Todd and some other famous Bama athletes from years past. The customer comes in, shakes my hand, gives me a hard time about the game and then says, "...to the victor goes the spoils" while handing me a My Father Limited 2010. VERY classy gesture from a classy guy and even though he's not a member on here, just thought I'd share the story of a fine example of a good sport! :tu

You know, and I hate to say it, but we were outcoached more than once this year. I just can't figure out why we refuse to keep our foot on somebody's neck when we've got them right where we want them. They did the same damn thing last year with Texas and it almost cost us. Bama left at least 17 points on the table early in the game and then in the second half just completely lay an egg.

Oh well, congrats to the barn, good luck against the cocks, and if you make it to the dance against the ducks, there ain't no way the ducks win that game. Go get 'em.

My season is officially a giant turd.

Well we know why that was, don't we old man.....FIRST, I would like to officially congratulate the HOG
FANS, one in particular, too. I forgot to come in here and humbly do that after the game, but I had a
butt pucker going on directing a particularly scary webcast that day. The next day I was BEAT. SO I hope
my congrats today suffice. Second I'd like to congratulate the LSU Tigers for doing a whole lot with very
little. Nice job.
Auburn....ehh. They whipped OUR a$$ for sure, but I am not all that excited about where that goes from
here. Even for the SEC. I will cheer them on in whatever bowl they find themselves in. But I am not happy
we lost by a freaking tiny touchdown. But we won by just as little this year ourselves, so good work.

Woo Pig Sooiee!

I'll admit, that game had me nervous for the first about 10min or so. Both the Hogs and LSU seemed to be suffering fluke-itis or something. I've never seen so many rare screw-ups at one time. Fumbles, dropped kicks, slippery ball syndrome during that one punt where NO ONE could seem to get ahold of it. Bad snaps from both teams and missed FGs from both teams on consecutive drives. It was just odd.

Glad things settled a bit, though. It did seem like a typical LSU/ARK game after that... We both left a lot of points on the table. Of course, there were also some magical moments for the Hogs (I'm lookin at you, Mallet & Hamilton & Adams). It was a great game!!

OLS
12-01-2010, 07:41 AM
I only lament missing wins, but three years running now I have been working the kart race while
this game is on. I am not sure, I know LSU has lost at least two of the last three. Maybe all of em.
But since they lost, I am glad I missed it. It is also the ONLY other game where I have failed to wear a
LSU shirt. They lost both. The other was the Auburn game. I tried throwing one on in the 4th Quarter of
that one but it was no use. I need to be more concious of my part in the wins and gear up properly.

When this year set out I think most Vols knew it was going to be The Suck. I won't lie i figured it was going to be painful to watch and it was.

However if these last few games are any bit of a indicator next year should be really good for us, and the year after that has no excuse to not be phenomenal

I guess my complaint this year is the same as last year...NO LSU in the BCS Champ Game, lol.
No, I am talking about the early start for the SEC Champ Game. I know it makes it easier to
get things rolling for the BCS committee, being as they have to report back to the underworld by
5pm or Satan gets upset. But I sure like the feeling of a Saturday night game, pop the top on a cold one,
fire up a cigar, sit back with a Tbone and a fat-a$$ potato or something. This daytime start,

Feels good to be a Gamecock and a fan of the SEC. It should be a great few years. They got a lot of work done this year and the team is very young. If you watched the game today (December 4, 2010) then you already know that Bama did not beat the Auburn Tigers, nor the Gamecocks, both games with Cam Newton. I have watched this team play all season long and I have been surprised a number of times by their determination and successes. In any case I know this, that they are one of the most exciting teams on the field today, bar none.

Cam Newton is a humble man who knows his place in the world (giving his praise to God and not to man) and on the gridiron. I was very proud how he played, how he replied to the media, and how Auburn performed during the game. It has been a long time coming but I am so glad to see them accept the SEC Championship.

Regards and War Eagle! ;)

Im not betting on them, everytime i do, they lose.

I do however think we are going to beat Auburn, with or without Newton, but Alabama is going to beat them before we do :D

I will however bet a 5er on Bama Beating Auburn :D

Cam won't be back....he has nothing left to prove. Factor in that he's losing his entire offensive line (and those guys are arguably the best unit in the nation and far too often overlooked) and the fact that he really can't get any better by staying in college and it's apparent that he's gone.

He won't play any other position in the NFL, either....he's a legitimate QB....and I'd give anything if he winds up in Miami!!

Personally I want UF to hire Mike Leach. Yeah I know he's got baggage, but he brings a couple of positives to the mix. He's tough on off the field issue, something Meyer wasn't, which is something we need to clean up. His offense always put up points, yes I know SEC defenses are different, and I wouldn't mind going back to a more Fun and Gun offense.

Biggest takeaway from this, Brantley stays if Petrino gets the job.

Mark my words... Petrino will NOT be leaving my beloved Hogs! Sure, if any college could take him away it would probably be UF. But the thing is... there is soooo little upside for him in it. Sure a bit more money and easier recruiting, but at what cost?

He'll prove every hater from Cali to Atlanta that all of the ESPiN pundits and MSM were right to call him a drifter and an opportunist with no loyalty. He'll piss off the one fan base that completely united behind him (and collectively gave the media the middle finger) when everyone else was bashing him. He throws away the chance to take a team that everyone writes off as second tier (Thanks Nutt!) all the way to the BCS MNC -- and lets face it, that could very well be next year. He and his family LOVE Arkansas and Arkansas LOVES Petrino. Our AD (Long) has given Petrino carte blanche and has already (rumored) placed an extension with pay raises annually for both Petrino AND his assistants (at Petrino's request), a HEAVY buyout, and pretty much everything else Petrino could want. When Petrino got to Arkansas he asked for new/upgraded facilities, he got all $30+ million worth of upgrades.

Essentially what he has at Arkansas is about the best you can get. A chance to prove yourself as a coach... To build, in the face of adversity, an elite program. To beat the giants with the underdogs. The love of an entire state, a united fan base, a program that stands 100% behind him. And recruits coming in by the droves to play under him.

If he goes to UF he has to contend with Meyer being over his shoulder -- which he'll hate. A fan base that is NOT on board, a program that is so highly touted that if you lose a game you're in the hot seat... Not to mention 2+ yrs of installing a drastically different program before the real results start showing. An AD that is not as likely to give carte blanche... And he ruins his chance to repair his rep and give a fat FU to the media that has hated on him non-stop since Atlanta.

Just sayin'.

Fully understand the lack of funds as a grad student. I did put in the price of another fee trying to get one of the ToE to join in but no takers on their side. So if you are willing to do a little "recruiting" the spot is yours.

Mark my words... Petrino will NOT be leaving my beloved Hogs! Sure, if any college could take him away it would probably be UF. But the thing is... there is soooo little upside for him in it. Sure a bit more money and easier recruiting, but at what cost?I guess you are right, I mean he doesn't have any kind of record of abrupt bolting...yeah, you're probably right, :r:r

Meh... World Wide Walt and the Shiloh Mafia won't be able to keep funneling talent to Gus (especially when he DOES leave) for too much longer - especially if any of the pending law suits pan out against Walt.

As for Dyer... He was a douche of a kid, and frankly BMFP didn't want him or his attitude on our team. Ziemba, that one hurts a bit... but we'll be fine. Frazier = overrated compared to what we have in depth and what BMFP can bring in with his history of building QBs. Those also aren't even close to AR's best players.

I think Muschamp was a good hire. He's done awesome under 3 great tutors and i'll bring great intensity and dedication. Think you'll see him turn Florida into a defensive juggernaut that gets after the QB.

As for offense, unless we decide to field 8 guys on the field we couldn't get any worse than the showing we had the past year under Adazzio.

I'll miss Urban though. He made the four years I was at UF (06-09) the best in Florida football history by a long shot and into the top 5 winning percentages :banger

Yep, should have know better. Arky wasn't ready for the big stage yet and still should have won the game. AND, if those FIVE INELIGIBLE BUCKEYES hadn't mysteriously been ruled eligible for this game Ohio State would have gotten rolled.

Either way, congrats to Ohio State for finally getting off the schneid against the SEC. Even if it was a Southwest Conference refugee that gave them the honor.

How are those NCAA investigations going boys? :r

Ya know, I don't typically like to engage in smack, but for some strange reason the above post came flying out of the peanut gallery. I knew there was something behind it, I just couldn't quite remember. Then I found it...

Wouldn't you know it, a buckeye fan with a beef against the SEC, trash talking about the NCAA. That's pretty original. Don't see that very much. :r

So, I was thinking I just heard something about the buckeyes the other day...

Ohio State Admits Secondary Violations (http://www.cleveland.com/osu/index.ssf/2010/07/ohio_state_admits_secondary_vi.html)

Well, at least it had nothing to do with the coaching staff.;)

Then I remembered seeing something else recently regarding recent NCAA violations...

Other leagues pass SEC on NCAA's scoreboard (http://www.tennessean.com/article/20100815/COLUMNIST0202/8150364/David-Climer-Other-leagues-pass-SEC-on-NCAA-s-scoreboard)
From that article...

Then I could have sworn I remembered reading something else...

OSU Cheats (http://www.dispatch.com/live/content//local_news/stories/2009/05/31/FERPA_OSU.ART_ART_05-31-09_A14_D4E14K6.html)

That can't be right can it? I mean, THE Ohio State University, that great bastion of all that is good in the world?

Quite simply, it always comes back to this:

Nah, Tressel is who he is, and that's a cheater from way back. Which is why he was a perfect fit at Ohio State, 'cause they been cheating forever. The hypocrisy resides with the fans.
