Careful... UF barely got away from us last year too. And it took the SEC officials to do it for them.
...and I won't even mention how much better we are this year. But hey, thanks for not giving us any credit.
:=:
It had nothing to do with you (The Razorbacks), and everything to do with Alabama. ;)
It had nothing to do with you (The Razorbacks), and everything to do with Alabama. ;)
So what you're saying is that Alabama isn't that good this year b/c they nearly lost to the Razorbacks? Isn't that the same as saying that the Razorbacks aren't a very tough team? :r
...I wouldn't be too sure ;)
From this season alone:
Offense is #3 in passing offense (365 ypg) - #1 SEC
Offense is #17 in total offense (468 ypg) - #2 SEC
Offense is tied for #16 in Red zone conversion (92.86%) - #3 SEC*
Defense is tied for #2 in sacks (14 sacks) - #1 SEC
Defense is #10 in tackles for loss (31 tfl) - #3 SEC
Defense is tied for #19 in the nation in scoring defense (14.5 ppg allowed) - #4 SEC
Defense is #16 in passing defense (156.8 ypg allowed) - #2 SEC
Defense is #28 in total defense (297.0 ypg allowed) - #4 SEC
Defense is #28 in 1st downs allowed per game(16 1st downs per game) - Tied #3 SEC
ST is ##27 in yards per punt (44.62 ypp) - #4 SEC
ST is # yards per punt return (12.86 ypr) - #2 SEC
ST is tied for #1 in FG % (4/4 100%) - #1 SEC
ST is tied for #1 in PAT % (16/16 100%) - #1 SEC
ST is #29 in yards per kickoff (65.88) - #2 SEC

Saying that Flordia is better than the Razorbacks, Max (I understand your opinion probably varies), and thus Florida has a chance against Alabama despite all the talk to the contrary. Also saying that Alabama is not the "juggernaut" that they were last season so far, but of course all that can change with Ingram and the rest of the talent they have.

I've a BIL that played at Bama in the late 70's under Bear. He put it very poetically with Chomp Chomp got Stomped Stomped.
Won't be as one sided next year, I'm afraid, when more of Gators have playtime under their belts. A lot of young player that will only get better with each game.
While some may slam Florida as playing poor, I didn't see that. I saw a Bama team that played their best game of the season (so far), against a game, but young Florida team. I'm glad to see this contest come back to regular season! Though, it makes me speculate. Regular season game, then meet again in the SEC Championship, then (with right circumstances) meet again for National Championship?? !!!! Who knows, could happen!!! Would that be too much for one season??? LOL!!
Not me so much, Kid, I saw a Florida that has been hyped since they lost in the SECC game as having lost a ton of great
players to the NFL, but having an even better draft class coming in, and a true quarterback finally, etc....I saw them
exposed as being just a depleted team that was trying way too hard to live up to the off-season hype. I don't mean that
bad, I mean that more from the standpoint of it being the same thing across the USA. It happens to a bunch of athlete
kids when big time boosters and fans get together to talk paper stats and overblow what young human beings are able
to achieve. Florida just came face to face with the fact that they are worse than 2009, have plenty of key players hurt, etc.
Bama is a juggernaut, and as long as they have Saban, they wiill be a juggernaut. He will be able to cherry pick the top
talent in the Southeast and crush all comers. LSU would be that juggernaut today had he stayed. Now out of respect
for Smokin Gator, I will stop bashing his team. :D Now I will agree that by the end of the season they might get all their
speed back, squeak by the division challengers and limp into the Georgiadome, but I don't see it going any different.
They might score some more points. They are the LSU of the East this year, lol.
OK, game but young is fairly accurate, Kid. :D

No offense taken at all Brad. I agree with most of what you said. I said way back in this thread that this was going to be an exciting year to be a Gator. I still feel that way. I didn't expect us to win them all... just that it is exciting to see this young team develop. If we will stop running Tebow plays I think we will be fine...When Brantley runs the option is there anyone in the stadium who expects him to keep it?

Hoho, we'll see. Just because we can't score doesn't mean our defense won't OWN Brantley and I feel like our defense
will have no problem scoring enough points to beat the gators next week. Or at least generate the turnovers to LEAD
to the TDs that will beat the gators. And by the way, I'll take Brantley over JJ anyday, too.
And hey, if he ever gets a decent snap in the gun, he might scare somebody, lol.
(And not to be too large of a tool, but I'll take escaping with a bizarre win over getting drubbed anyday, too, lol.) :D
He has been able to cherry pic the top talent in the Southeast and crush all comers. Now wait...I know that this is just give and take, but in order to beat all comers, you have to beat all comers.
Getting their a$$ handed to em twice in a row by bama is not beating all comers. Had either game
been even close I would not be harping on it, but ehhh...But I think it is safe to classify meyer's tenure
as much more successful than Les Miles'. :)

Lost look in Jeffersons eyes? What about the "Clueless" look in "Less" Miles eyes? Did you happen to see the interview after the game? "Just another day in the SEC"!!! IS HE HIGH? Does he not know that people think he's an idiot? WOW! I really hate it for LSU as they have all the talent in the world (except at the QB position) and no coaching. I really don't see LSU getting past the Gators, Auburn, Bama or Arkansas. 8-4 is a good season for some fans/Alum, but not down in Baton Rouge. I sure hope for the sake of a fine football program that they run Miles/Crowton out of town after the season. On the other hand, as a Bama fan, I hope ole Less stays at LSU forever;)

It's the look in their eyes. None of those three had nary a clue what the hell was going on. Still don't. Miles has a look that's even worse, and if not for the comedic relief would be completely worthless. His press conference was pure gold. If you haven't seen it you're missing out.
On Bama...we are now starting to enter a stretch in which 5 teams have an off week before playing us. Our schedule is brutal this year. In 5 games, we've been on the road twice, played two top 10 teams, and head to another top 20 program with a week of rest next Saturday. But I like what I see. I'll tell you this, this defense in two years is gonna be scary good. And when Saban was at LSU I was like, big deal. Good coach but whatever. Let me tell ya, this guy knows exactly what he's doing 24/7. Everything is calculated, orchestrated, and premeditated. As long as we have him we're going to be in the hunt. And everybody wants to say he never stays anywhere longer than 5 years, blah, blah, blah. Maybe so, but at least we're getting, to borrow from Lester Miles, a damn fine football team for those 5.
A lot of football left, but I like our chances about now.

:)This is what I was trying to tell Power yesterday. As long as Nickie Sin is there, the recruits
will PILE in, climbing all over one another to get a chance to start. And it will never end as long as Nick
is there. FROM WHAT I KNOW, he also does it fairly cleanly, so you should avoid the kind of sanctions
you normally get when you are piling in the talent through other means. Power tried to defend FL as if
there was a duopoly going on with AL and FL, and I respect his opinion, I just don't agree with it.
What he wants there to be in FL is "lose half a team to the NFL, just reload, and do it all over again."
And this is the way it was supposed to be. If you watched that senior game last year, al the kids
were putting on the Gator hats. Urban HAS the kids. But let's face it, no matter how you spin it,
they got trounced by Bama. (twice) Bama is scary good NOW. No need to wait. Personally, I love it that
FL is exposed, and UGA is just lost. But that's what you expect with the SEC...fandom, homerism,
loyalty, rivalry. And what's more, I am not so sure that Nick won't stay awhile. LSU is hot, humid,
tough to be at. Bama is cool, comfortable, tough to be at, but EASY to be at if you win. I thought
he was trying to establish a dynasty at LSU. But it is a lot easier to believe he is trying to REALLY
do that at Bama. (Bear Jr.) The ONLY chink I see is that he is super-intelligent and well-spoken.
HE MAY try to get out of Bama and head to a place where the accent doesn't MAKE people sound
stupid. God love the Bayou and the Bama hills, but the rest of the country think we sound like hicks.
He may try to parlay that clout to a school where he doesn't want to PUNCH everyone who talks to him, lol.
-------------------
And don't get me wrong, I am not trying to bash Michael. I just feel like there is something wrong going
on at UF for there NOT to be this reload, whammy. It is sad to watch, cause they are gonna get beat a few
ties this year and it's not gonna sit well. OK, NOW I am ready to bet you, Michael, lol. I done got myself

Have no fear sir. I even bought a cornhole set and have been practicing on it during Clemson tailgates :tu
Peer pressure, hehe. I know there is a chance for a letdown at UA, but for some reason
I don't think it will happen while Saban is there. Not to cap on UF, but their letdown is
VERY strange, bizarre yet. I think Saban is too good a coach to allow a letdown.
No matter what bluechippers he gets, he uses them masterfully. I THINK that Urban
is not as good. I think he tends to require the perfect mix of players to have the best
outcome where I think Saban is much more of a 'make the best out of what you have' guy.
We'll see though, I am almost always wrong.

Brad,
Hope I didn't ruffle feathers as that was not my intent. I have watched Les/Gary make bonehead calls or just no calls at all over the last 2 years. Miles has this "What just happened" look on his face all the time. I guess if you make poor/no decision and still win, it's no big deal. But what about the games that have gone the other way? Nobody wins them all and people do make mistakes cause we are all human, but DAMN! As I said in my earlier post, I just hate to see a great football program/players not reach their potential because of coaching.

Could be worse.... They could have Houston Nutt screwing up the works for 10yrs.
Oh, my feathers aren't ruffled. This is one of the toughest threads in CA, it's just a real intense
subject with really deep 'feelings' regarding area teams. I do not take anything anyone says
in a bad light, because I am one of the only LSU fans on the board...I get beat on a lot. And if
I have no alternative but to take it, I do. But when I think I have a reasonable argument,
I argue. I can agree with people who say that we are the worst 5-0 team in the country, but I do
not agree that we should be 0-5, or something rash like that. LSU fought and clawed back from
a raft of mistakes by the players with good coahing and horrible, sloppy coaching mistakes with
player heart. They earned their record, no matter how sloppily they did it.
Let's look at another argument. LSU barely beat bad teams. I think that is untrue. In TN, people
know that this team is talented and scrappy and better than their record indicates. They are
just unorganized and as poorly coached as the Tigers.
UNC I think was depleted, sure, but their second stringers played their hearts out, and not all
the suspeded kids failed to play, in fact some serious hitters played but did not "start". I have
no real knowledge about how the UWV game went or where they stood, but UWV is no perennial
slouch. A lot of teams in the NCAA play cream puffs for 3-5 weeks before getting to the meat
of their schedules. LSU plays top teams right out of the gate. So at this point in the season
I am not embarassed by LSU's standing in the league. They could have played any of those
teams and lost. (And LSU plays some cream puffs, just later.)
Don't pay any mind to me, I just pull doggedly for my team and poke the other team's in
the eye. Sometimes the fans get in the way. And I mean no harm to them. I just analyze
the facts I have, ignore the facts I don't, and pass ruthless judgement, lol.
I feel ya, Brad. I think I am the ONLY Arkansas fan on the board.
MAN, I was pulling for the Hogs when they played Bama. I have a standard line, I am a Bama
fan as long as the do not play LSU. But I had to move off of my position when the Hogs
were giving them all they wanted. What happened in the second half is anybody's guess,
but like I said, Nick Saban is the king of second half adjustments. You guys never had a chance. :D
But being in Memphis, you tend to sway a little towards Arkansas in a fairly neutral context.
Against LSU though, look out. And for the second year in a row, I am going to be working
the day of the big showdown. Why anyone would hold a game in the early afternoon is
beyond me.

I ALWAYS take the the day off for the LSU game. Last year I had to patch my walls from all of the bottles I threw as Mallett overthrew receiver after receiver and Tejada missed FG after FG after FG. This year... I won't have that problem. This year I'll be patching holes from the furniture thrown in riotous celebration after we stop a new mudhole in LSU. ;) Lester "Trucker Hat" Miles' luck is bound to run out by Nov 28th.

Well, this year just make sure to watch my karting webcast at www.onikc.com on
Saturday night after the game. That's what I will be doing. It will be free til 5 then PPV only,
but all day and night Friday it is still free. One kart driver in the Senior Pro class will win
$20,000 Saturday night. Should be a brawl. The other races are all either 5000 or 1000 to win.
Interesting factoids from the Memphis Commercial Appeal:
Georgia and Tennessee have six SEC championship game appearances between them
since 2001, but will play Saturday with losing records for the first time since 1906....ouch
Alabama begins a stretch on Saturday at South Carolina of playing six consecutive SEC games
against teams that enjoy a bye week before meeting the Crimson Tide. "I think everybody
should have an open date before they play Alabama, because they're so good," joked Ole Miss
coach Houston Nutt, whose team is off this week before playing at Alabama on Oct. 16
So for those keeping track at home, Michael and i have a bet for the UF-LSU game this weekend.
God only knows how THAT one's gonna go. But I think he's an LSU fan, so.....

Garcia intentionally getting a safety has to be one of the dumbest quarterback plays ever :O
So Bama got bumped by SC. Arkansas squeaked by. Things are going to be brutal in the West this year. Arkansas needs to get their offense's collective minds right or we'll wind up in a bad position. TAMU all but handed us a blow out and we barely made it by.... mostly on our D. Bama needs to shake this loss off and learn from their mistakes. From the looks of the stats (I didn't watch it as I was watching the Ark game) it looks like SC studied the Ark v Bama game and repeated our successes while keeping their foot on the gas. They just handed Auburn and LSU the keys to defeating Bama. So Bama needs to hit the ground running and fix the leaks.
Arkansas needs to get their offense back on point and run the table. This is going to be a brutal and frustrating season methinks.

throw this out there, Brad. LSU stinks. Actually they are really good. Les Miles Stinks, and all of them together have exceptional luck,
voodoo, gris gris or whatever. Luck, skill, demonic intervention, you still have to play the game
well enough to be there at the end to steal the victory from the fans who bounce up and down
to that house music that's so popular now, the one that sounds like the opening scene from
"BLADE". They get SO WORKED UP about how their teams have all put the last nail in LSU's
coffin and what do we do EVERY SINGLE TIME?? That's right. We steal that $hit from em and
leave them drunk, quiet AND pissed. It was especially gratifying the other night when it was all

see any of the Florida men smiling...they knew. MEN know football, and understand that
sick feeling rising in their throats. Women just think they've had too much Southern Comfort.
No Rizzle, my friend, you gotta have the skills it takes to be there at the end, and there was a LOT
of hard running and surprisingly nice passing and catching going on. I went to ESPN3.com and
watched it again, and outside of the freakish luck at the end, we played well enough to be there
when it counted and could be won.
I should say one more thing about the game at Ben Hill Griffin the other night. An out of towner would expect
a little skull-duggery afoot in the officiating, but I was surprised that LSU got the calls they deserved, good
and bad, and the refs didn't seem to be stealing the game this year. A lot of 2009 games seemed tainted by
one huge bad call or another, and we remember the scandals that turned out not to be too scandalous,
concerning the officiating in the SEC. When a call is made, I am man enough to see it as objectively as
possible, benefit to me or not. It was pretty clean EXCEPT for a non-call at 10:50 of the 4th quarter on
a pass caught out of bounds, the LSU guy came up on a FL receiver heading out of bounds, and right there on the big,
wide, white strip, shoves him in the back with his hands, and sends the guy flying into a guy and a table full
of gatorade in cups. I could not believe that LSU was not flagged on it. I guess cause it was not a tackle,
he just shoved him, but with his momentum, it caused a lot of crap to get knocked over. I do not like dirty play.
I do not like dirty play.
Then why are you an LSU fan? :=: ZING!
j/k. I couldn't resist.
Haha, when I see it, I calls it. I think out of all the teams in the SEC, LSU and Florida get
the most accusations about that. It disgusts me for that very reason. I hate people to
have irrefutable video evidence that LSU plays dirty. It embarasses me. Like that UF guy
who was seen on TV closeup sticking his fingers into that guy's facemask last year, the
linebacker, name escapes me....Spikes.
OH, by the way....all of the replays of the games are here:
http://espn.go.com/espn3/index#
I watched my first game on it Saturday, Memphis got their ever-lovin A$$ handed to em by
Louisville...yikes. But it was cool to be able to watch. Had I not been headed to Fox

As if having Hootie Dale for a coach wasn't enough to make them a laughing stock.... They changed their mascot to complete the dissent. :r:r
Well, let's be fair. This was meddling kids, just like Scooby Doo. There are people that took
offense to the "Old South" and 'politically corrected' their way to making a stink and changing
what was fine before. To have no good choices is a product of stupid Aholes who, instead of just
forgetting about all that crap and moving on, dredge it up every day to make themselves feel
miserable all over again. I like the way Florida State handled it better.
Now, is it still embarassing. Sure. But I think in the end they made it worse on themselves,
(provided you believe that the people who ran Col. Reb out of town were black). Personally
I could care less. I thought the best possible choice was Admiral Ackbar.

You didn't watch the game, did you? We got hosed. Phantom TD, Phantom fumble... No call on a horse collar that took our starting QB out of the game. Which leads to us having to force the ball which lead to two turn overs in the 4th.
As for us not playing well in the second half... I just assume you honestly didn't watch the game. We came back in the second half... The fuse blew when the refs butt-humped us twice and we were forced to try to force the ball in the 4th quarter.
Our problems in the second half, IMO, come from Mallett. He checks off too much. Watch how Wilson runs the Petrino offense. He does what he's told and we move the ball. Mallett checks off too much and causes confusion and nullifies the adjustments to the play scheme that Petrino makes at the half.
PS: The other part of the problem was poor defense and piss poor special teams. 28pts were given up between the two gifts from the officials and 2 gifts from our special teams.

That's a lot of gifts.....Merry Christmas!!! :D
Right? lol. We definitely lacked something to be desired... but without the royal treatment from the officials the outcome may have been much different. Both were game changing calls. Both highly suspect and both showed very clearly on replay to be different from what was called. Hell, even that idiot Verne Lundquist (who hates Arkansas) could tell on both of those that the call was wrong... Actually, on the gifted touchdown the original ruling on field (from 2 linemen) was fumble and Arkansas recovery. The statement from Roger Redding was that the head lineman had called TD. But the footage and eyewitness accounts beg to differ. Not ONE official called TD. Not one. So yeah, royal screwing.
I've never been one to believe in conspiracies and such... but this is the second straight season where we have been hosed against undefeated teams. Last year it happened multiple times (Florida was case and point), and this year the trend continues. And Ark isn't the only team it happens to. And even if it weren't some unspoken rule in the SEC that you protect the undefeateds for the sake of ratings in their head to heads and BCS bids... Penn Wagers (head official at this game) has a long history of screwing Ark. It is well known in Fayetteville that that douchebag hates us.

Exactly. I guess what could make it a bad call by Spurrier, Joey, is the fact that Garcia is your QB. But there was planty of time to get off a quick pass and make sure no one could catch it but your WR. Just a normal Garcia play in my book. The bastige. :xxx

If a player texts a girl "time to die" i don't think they should suit up anymore
I also think Meyer is reaching here. If you are gonna do that, do it while there is
still some season left to save. And that makes you look worse. But having Rainey back
is all downside or very little upside at this late stage. They need him bad, that's for sure.

A great game (trying to) going on between Ole Miss and Arkansas!!! But, this one might go down as one of the longest SEC game played! 2nd weather delay (lightening) now in place! And this delay may be extended!
LSU and Auburn a very close game at the end of 1st quarter. Darn nice day outside here. Wish I had a reasonable way to watch TV outside so I could smoke some good stogies during these games!! One thing I have enjoyed, I mean almost as much as LSU being 7 and 0 on pure, balls-out LUCK,

Does CBS have a double-header or something?? Aub OM and FLA GA ?
That'd be nice, I'll have to check.

Looks like my Gamecocks got it done again. Dirty, unorganized, but done. I sure hope they get their **** together before Arkanasas/Florida games coming up.

It was ugly... but we beat that GA ass again. It never feels bad!!!
Brutal night it was for Vandy.
And WHY would any of you guys pick Ole Miss over... well... anyone, right now?
I admit it hurt MY picks.
TN looked game there for a it after the got Simms out of the game. That kid that
came in second was a baller.

I managed to survive the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party! It was a blast as always
Had pretty good seats in the South endzone, when Will Hill intercepted that ball he was running right at me. What a great game to watch!

Plus, FSU, Miami, Tennessee and Georgia all lost this week. Good week for UF fans :tu

Dang... it was a good week. I hadn't thought of it that way. Now if we can just beat Vandy on the road and SC at home...

If it were anyone other than Georgia I'd agree with you on this one, Joey. But Georgia just has this thing about laying an egg against Florida. I have no idea what happpens in this game Saturday. No idea.
Would have never guessed it. :banger
I think the freshman would get my nod. I wouldn't be worried about pi$$ing off Phil Simms.
Simms is good, but has no real QB nards from what I can see over 3-4 games. He can take
a hit, though.
I really like what the kid did off the bench. GUTS. AND skills.

I think Bray will be ok, although I'm concerned as to whether or not he can take a smack. Our O-line has been Swiss cheese and I think that has contributed heavily to Simms lack of success.

I'm looking ahead to two matchups that will decide how the cards fall:
1. The Iron Bowl
I think Bama and Auburn will get it done in these remaining games to meet up for all the marbles in the Iron Bowl (sorry OLS). Since the game is so late in the season and the winner goes to the SEC championship game, If Bama wins, Auburn fans will b*tch to no end that their bitterest rival, which lost to a worse team, goes to Atlanta while they get merely an at large bid in the BCS. This is the scenario I am hoping for. Mainly b/ca it will be another example of why we desperately need a playoff system
2. Meyer vs Spurrier Bowl
I also think that the Gators and Cocks matchup in two weeks will be for the right to represent the sadly pathetic East in Atlanta. Key for both games is which team can stop the run and establish it themselves on offense. The bone-head propensities of Garcia are offset by the idiotic play calling of Adazio, so it'll be a close one. Hopefully Florida can pull out a dramatic win like it did in 06 at home

I doubt they will beat Auburn, but the Auburn-Georgia game has history and rivalry behind it. Could Georgia be Auburn's underestimated opponent??
I see it as a lot less cut and dried, derh, obviously, lol. My selfish aim is to beat the Tide this weekend.
This should re-affirm LSU's rightful place of dominance :noon in the world, and thereby take the fun out
of the Iron Bowl. Run the table, advance to the BCS title game and win anothern. hehe. Talk about two
teams that control their destiny meeting up. Well, maybe not, but a man can dream in an asylum.

Unless he's worried that Georgia is gonna get beat by 3+ touchdowns and he's a Geogia fan in disguise, he's lost his freaking mind. I don't know if Georgia wins another game this year.

thats hilarious
I wish all my Alabama fan friends safe passage through the outer stadium area, and also that you will
befriend some nice tailgating coon-a$$es who will feed you and beer you. Remain gracious at all times
and keep an open mind and a respectful tone and you will really stick out, haha. I mean really have
a ball. Listen, I am not going to kid myself or anyone, athletes to athletes, this is a tight matchup.
QB to QB and Coach to Coach I think we all know how the Tigers stand. But just the same, tomorrow
I will don my purple circus shirt here at work and be ready to help my team win one. And for anyone
that wants to know how we lost to Auburn...I left my LSU garb in the laundry room until I realized we
were getting killed and I was in a Denver Broncos shirt. By the time I changed it was too late.

Are you referring to that nasty hit near the side line by Nelson? Looked like it hurt! Sorry your guy got injured - I really do hate that - but last time I checked, hitting in bounds was still legal. It wasn't cheap at all... just a solid hit. Oh... And according to replay that late hit call was complete BS.
As for hoping that Jericho Nelson has a season ending injury... Well, that's just low, dude. Seriously, man.
