Looks like a Dyna.
Went riding this past Saturday. Bike was really heavy in the turns and had to really fight it.... Finally realized I had picked up a nail in my rear tire somewhere along the way. Looks like it's time to buy a new back tire. :td

This badboy will rock and roll... and it's for sale. Frickin' greedy a** Uncle Sam is making it necessary to part with it. We really could use the money but deep-down I hope it doesn't sell

I wish, it's just the 883. Figured that would be fine for my first street bike. And no, I'm a ranger I just rolled out to show my coworkers. But it's fun to show ppl the pic and say I was getting hassled by the law

BUT. If you do nothing else, get those ****ing sneakers off your feet when you're riding. I had an 80 year old slam in to my bike last June, I'm still rehabbing from the accident, and if I hadn't had riding boots on I would have lost my foot. Just sayin'

It was either cheap on the helmet and get boots and vest or buy good helmet and get boots and vest next pay day bc I ended up putting more down than I had expected to after seeing the apr rate. With the accidents I've worked I stand by my decision for now. I rather lose a foot than my noodle.

Even if you've got some leather construction boots or something around they would be 100 times better than sneakers. Just lookin' out, not trying to bust balls.

Picked up my new bike yesterday. Rode 'er home from Delaware and loved every minute of it. Great bike!! 2011 FLTRU (Road Glide Ultra) Merlot. I've already logged 250 miles on 'er. :D
Congrats Tripp. Leigh is wanting to get her license to ride.

While the weather was still crap, I fixed the bad light on my light bar up front. The guys at the Honda shop had put the light bar on an unswitched circuit thinking they were helping me out (helping kill my battery, I suppose).
So, while I was installing an iPhone charger and speakers and an iPhone holder on my bike, I moved those lights back to a switched circuit. I'd like to put them on my high beams, but that'll have to wait.
I got a new leather jacket with a hoodie built in, I love it. Lisa and I are both looking for boots.
I managed to rip my trunk bad yesterday because I never rectified the retarded situation the original owner created there. I guess that makes me twice the tard.
We got 125 miles in yesterday, it's the 5th or 6th time I've been out this year, but the first time I didn't freeze my nads off. :D
So that's where we're at.
We need boots, and I'd like to get cruise put on Lisa's little 500 Shadow. I love mine, it's a big help. I'm sure she'd enjoy it, too.
Oh, and chrome...
I need a front fender rail, and I need to find a front fender tail, chromed. I don't want the tail, but the original owner had a leather mudflap with tassles and reflectors on there that hit the road and cracked the fender all up around the screw holes. A fender tail would cover all that mess and keep stuff from cracking further.
There's some more chromage I'm waffling about, but ya just gotta go one chunk at a time. :D

Beautiful bike man. Someday I will get a bike! What kind of bike did you start out on?
Well really I started out on a Kawasaki KD-80 when I was a kid. ;)
As for street bikes I started out with a KTM 525 Supermoto which really wasn't street legal but it was good fun. I then moved to the Ducati 999 that I only owned for about 6 months before I got this 1198S.

Don't make her too heavy, she'll get slow. ;)
I blew the mouse fetuses out of the V&H pipes, so I'm getting about 75 out of her. I'd like to lose another 15 mph or so, and I'll be right where I'm happy.
I forgot to mention, I got a brand new stock seat on ebay for $125. Mine had a big gash melted in it. What happened to it, I'll never know, but it was nasty. It made a big diff in "newing up" the bike.
Weight change=neutral (unless there's a difference in unburned plastic vs. non-burned plastic.)

Scott, don't you have back problems? That seat will be the death of you. I'd rather sit on concrete. Check out Mustangs (my preference for you bike) or Corbin.

I've been out 6 or 8 times between the raindrops.
I got some new gas, and I got some new really heavy thread to sew up my trunk bag. It got all ripped up cause I've been too lazy to cut out a hunk of wood and bolt it to the inside bottom so it'll quit crumpling up on me.
I have been wanting to get one of those front fender chrome double rail deals. I'll just wait till I have time to put it on. If I can't fix my saddlebag, I probably won't bolt on chrome either, right?
This thing is what I'm talking aboot...

Glad to see you are riding that thing. :tu Hoping to be up in VA again sooner than later.
Had some buds in from VA over the holiday week/weekend. We did some riding but it was hotter than a muther out there. The temps here stayed in the lower 90's which made it a real turd when you were stuck at a light. Picked up some black header wrap at the Harley shop and wrapped my headers in the attempt to knock down some heat. Worked pretty good.

Recent knee surgery (buff and clean, not replacement) left me uncomfortable putting my feet down and maybe slipping on some sand or gravel. A little knee torque with 850-lb of Goldwing could be real mess. So, after thinking I'd be riding that 2003 GL1800 until the End of Days... gasp - I sold it.
After three weeks without a bike I wasn't feeling right. A few test rides later I moved over (or up, or down, depending) to a 2007 R1200R BMW with a few trimmings. At nearly half the weight of the Honda I ended up with better MPG, lower miles on the odometer, ABS (wow - really), heated handgrips (another wow), heated jacket and gloves (double wow), hard bags and a rear carry-all, three windshields (sport, 20" and 24"), forward-mounted MotoLights and a Sargent saddle. It's fast, it's quiet, it handles great and, above 5000rpm it rips. Never had a BMW bike and what can I say? Hey - I'm a fan.

....just happy to still be riding in Chicago in mid-November.At 61 the cost of comfort gave way to age. I don't know how I made it this far without Gerbing on my six. Rode 70mph, freeway x 200 miles, last week with temps running 36* to 39* - Gerbing (Rocky boots and thermal bib overalls) made it a pleasant ride. Never had a 3-hour sub-45* ride that left me smiling unless I looked like the Pillsbury Doughboy.
And 30-years living in NC has made me a cold-wimp. :<

I haven't rode a BMW since I was a kid, all of 30 years ago. I was used to riding Hodaka's and Kawasaki's in the dirt, I remember being shocked at how a motorcycle could ride like that with so much power. I was in love with that thing, I used to shine it up for free just so I could be around it. :D

I bought mine because of price. I was a poor Airman new to the Air Force and I paid less than $5000 for my bike.
Soooo, my best buddy at work decided to up and leave me to go to the Motor Squad, I have kicked around being a Motor for years, but never committed due to all the dog and pony stuff they have to do i.e parades, funerals, special events etc. on top of that all the tickets and DUI's which equals lots of court, which is good $$$ but I have no time for that much court.
But maybe this fall I will go to the school and see how it goes, we have gone from Harley to BMW.

I've been toying with the idea of naming her Nigella but I'm not 100% on it yet. If I do go with that name it would be the first non-p*rn star name for one of our vehicles EVER! I hear you though Tom. I really do love my warm riding weather in AZ. I'll be honest though, I don't know what it is with me lately but I've been riding like a banshee the last 2 or 3 months. Now I'm generally a very safe and defensive driver, especially with all the fun asshole drivers in PHX, but the last couple of months I've been riding at 85-90 almost exclusively. Hell, on the way into work this morning (I have a 45 min commute to downtown during rush hour) I blew past quite a bit of traffic in the HOV lane doing 90 before I realized it. I think I need to simmer down a bit and quit taking so many chances.

Lookin good, Admiral.
I threatened to get my scoot out for a ride yesterday, then decided I didn't want to freeze.
They're both all ready to go, and I've had them out and running.
I've been threatening all winter to get a bunch of white led's to highlight the chrome, still haven't done it. Wanted to add a couple bass speakers and an amp and 4 more sats. Didn't buy a single hunk of chrome, either.
I only need to cover one swing arm and it's done.
I have to shorten the front fender, too. Some previous owner goof put a mud flap on it and it's got the fender all cracked.
I guess I'll just work on her when the sun comes out. :tu

I like the colors on your WG. Pretty sweet.
Thank you. There was just something about the colors that drew me in. I already ordered Vance and Hines slips. Anything is better then stock. Enjoy!!

Now I just need time to go kill some bugs.

Well I'm just starting to look around for a dual sport bike. I've not done much road riding, mostly moto, and some open desert riding/racing. Now since we've started splitting time between the desert in NV and our place in North Tahoe I can see the value of a plated MC to link some cool fire roads and trails with out needing to trailer to each trail head. Probably end up with a CRF450x set up for NV plates, but open to other suggestions!
