You know we gotta have our separate thread. :ss

So, you guys think Romo is gonna play Sunday? I think Johnson will start but Jerry Jones (the real head coach) will find any reason to put him in. Personally, I think he needs to sit and heal.. the Rams are basically a bye week, no need to be stupid.

Any Rams fans wanna bet a 5'er? :D

I would like to see him play.

I think it would do him good as a leader of the team and within the league to portray himself as tougher than he is currently perceived just my two cents.

shvictor

I dont think he should play. Having Brad play will help us get our running game going. We have not really tried to establish the run all year. We're gonna need the running game to be clicking on all cylinders down the stretch.

RGD.
10-19-2008, 11:42 AM
Well this is just pathetic. We have zero defense - offensive line can't block for the run - barely can protect the quarterback.

Dallas 7 to Rams 21 in the first quarter -

Sucks after such a promising start to the season.

If jerry doesn't go out and get Bill Cowher to coach this team he is a freakin idiot. The coaching staff on this team is an absolute embarrasment. I'm as diehard a Cowboys fan as they come, but i think I would get some kind of perverse pleasure if we lost the rest of the games this year with this coaching staff.

I think this game decides whether we make the playoffs or not.

Our division is crazy good and I don't see 3 teams getting into the playoffs from the NFL East. If we lose this we still have 2 games vs. the Giants, and 1 each against the Redskins and Eagles. Better step up this weekend.

I keep hearing people complain about TO exploding on the sidelines and yelling at his O-line, other players, etc. I don't see this is "the old TO," I see it as someone who is tired of getting his ass whooped on a weekly basis and since the coaches are all Powder Puffs, he has to step up and light a fire in someone's ass.

I remember laughing when I heard we signed Brooks. I watched his entire career at Wisconsin and never thought he'd make it in the NFL. As much as I don't have confidence in Brooks I would like to see what he can do because Johnson is old and plays old.

This week is do or die. I can't wait. I gotta Oliva V maddie waiting for Sunday night.

However, I blame players performance more than coaches. We lost to the Skins and the Cardinals because we didn't perform. Then injuries piled up and we didn't have the personnel to do a damn thing. Looks like we'll have the majority of our injured players back. No excuses now.

I think the Cowboys play best when they let it all hang out. First half they were throwing screen, trying to gain a few yards here and there. Second half they started throwin' the ball downfield and really opened it up.

It looks like we lost one Jones for the year (Felix) and will be getting another Jones back for Pittsburgh (Pacman). I'm bummed that Felix is out for the year. FYI, he tore a ligament in his big toe (left) while rehabbing his hammy. Hopefully the coaches give Choice a chance.

As for Pacman, I hope he doesn't eff up our locker room with distractions. I'm on the fence about him. He'll probably end up returning kicks as well as playing nickel.

white_s2k
11-20-2008, 03:59 PM
I don't like Pacman, at all. I was on the fence about him as well at the beginning of the season, but he didn't even step up and play very well! His benefit to the team does not outweigh the distraction he causes, IMHO. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't even make it to the end of the season.

I would love to say that these next two games against 49ers/Seahawks are going to be easy games to help us get ready for the long stretch at the end of the season.. but I said the same thing about Rams/Cards.. and well, yeah.. :hn

Had a Cowboy Superbowl ring in my hand tonight from 1970 something.

I was with a client who played in the 70's and I was admiring it. He pulled it off and let me try it on. Way too big for my finger but covered in diamonds.

His name is Guy Brown. I googled him after he left and found out he never started and played a lot of special teams, but he was one of the nicest guys you ever met.

The main problem I see is Jerry Jones. Until he stops hiring Yes Men to run this team nothing will change. I also put some blame on Romo, but the majority of the blame for offense has to be Jason Garrett. He has the most weapons in football and runs the most simplistic offenses in the NFL. I can watch the game and guess which play is next and be right 70% of the time. The way I see it, Jerry needs to hire a real GM, and totally dismantle the coaching staff. Wade can stay on a D Coordinator if he wants, but garrett and the rest of the coaches have to go. This team is mentally weak and play stupid. That is a direct reflection of the HC. If we could get a coach like Cowher next year I think it would go a long way to getting the fire and heart back into this team. We shall see what happens.

The Colts have the most weapons in football, my friend. Is Dallas second? Couldn't say.:D

Tony Romo is the QB on the field, so it's up to him to make the most of the weapons he has on the field at any given time. He consistently fails to do so, that probably won't change no matter who the coordinator is.

Romo is a construct of the media and the Dallas Faithful. He sat on the bench behind the likes of guys like the original Stone Man, Drew Bledsoe, for a very good reason.

Take a hard luck at his game logs, I think what you'll see is he puts up big numbers against bad teams, and small numbers against good teams. It skews his averages all out of whack and makes him look a lot better than he really is.

I don't think it's a matter of him choking, that's not the problem. I think he lacks the skills/cognition to read, react and adapt to the more complex defenses he sees when playing the better teams.:2

I just saw the score, so glad I didn't waste a second of time watching these losers. Been a Cowboy fan for 30 plus years(and always will be), but a team with this much talent and absofarginlutely no heart. No leadership from ownership down. Been this way since Jerry ran off Jimmy Johnson. I could live with 1 and 15 and no talent. The Steeler game was a prime example of what this team is. The Steeler's have leadership and heart of which this Cowboy team has none. But that's just my opinion.

One positive, this team didn't get the opportunity to stink up the playoffs.

You know in Romos defense when you only have 1 sec to throw the ball its really hard to succeed. If you look at all the so called great QB's in the league what do they have in common? Their teams all have a great running game, and are committed to the run. The Cowboys have a pass happy Off. coord in Garrett. You put Romo on a team like the Giants with a great running game, and I think you would see a totally different outcome with him...my :2

The issue with the Cowboys starts at the top with Jerra and continues from there. There is a clear lack of leadership as in who is in charge on the sidelines. did you see when it was 4th down and Wade sends in the punting unit and Romo tells them to go back? WTF is that all about?

Contrast that with what took place in San Francisco since Singletary (No more interim tag by the way) took over. was there ever any doubt who was the clear leader of that football team?

If Bill Parcells could not make it work in Dallas I don't know who can with an owner that makes way to many on the field decisions.

Jerra could learn a two or thing from Robert Kraft. There should be a clear deleanation between ownership and management in the NFL

Way too many what ifs when people try to defend Romo. Plain and simple, the guy has stunk it up all season. He has not played like a great QB in this league at all. He makes way too many mistakes and tries to make too many big plays, but this year 90% of those plays have ended up as interceptions or fumbles.

Hopefully, the offseason brings some change to this team. I wish the city of Dallas could impeach Jerry Jones. :D

If Bill Parcells could not make it work in Dallas I don't know who can with an owner that makes way to many on the field decisions.

Yep, this team won't change until Jerry learns to hand the reigns over to the coaches.

Hopefully Garrett and his kindergarten playbook take a head coaching position somewhere else and we get Shanahan!

I just don't see Shanahan even considering it with Jerra still running things. Shanahan is like Parcells in that he requires full control and knows that with Jerra around he won't get it

You guys need a QB.

We need a Off coord who doesn't send the receivers out on 25yrd routes every play. We need a coord who will establish a run game. We need a coord that is not so predictable that the other teams know every play we are going to run. We need an offensive line that gives the QB more than 1 sec to throw the ball. If we get that, I think you see a different Tony Romo.
