Guys,
The Cowboys made a great run this year.
They were the team to beat in the NFC East after a very poor start.
Frankly surprising they did what they did considering the poor start.

Objectively, not as a hater, but as a football fan, they just lacked something in spite of the recent storm of wins. What they did against some teams such as two games in a row against Philly was impressive. However, the Vikings are not Philly.

I think the Cowboys lacked consistency, particularly with Romo. I agree with Peter on Romo. If he has a good game, he has a good game. If he gets rattled, he never seems to recover. That is what happened to him today. They put pressure that he could not frankly handle.

With that, all with the exception of two teams and one ultimate winner, seasons come to an end.

I truly feel I never got personal here. I expressed a dissenting opinion to that of the Cowboys fans. That was seen as a "troll". It frankly came close to a playground childish "you pushed me but I pushed you last". Steve, nothing personal but buddy, lighten up. When I said I was just having fun, seems you are seriously offended that fun is at the expense of your Cowboys and predicting a loss v. your fan support and hope for a win. I never meant any ill will and I hope you guys can see that.

Let's hope we can do it all again next year as that will mean you guys are doing well again.

Farve made some plays today that few could match.

So what should they have done on 4th down? Take a knee?

A for sure 3 points pulling it to 30-3 or toss it up, take a chance, and get 34-3.

Either way, Dallas got their ass kicked.

Minnesota gave Dallas plenty of opportunity to make something happen in that territory late in the 4th. Dallas couldn't pull past their 30 and consecutively lost it on 4th down.

These guys get paid millions of dollars to play professional football. If they have hurt feelings over a game, I do not feel sorry for them one bit.

In my part of Louisiana (30 miles east of New Orleans and about 35 miles west of Kiln, Mississippi) Brett Favre is considered a neighbor and most of us root for him anytime he is not playing against the Saints. No one I know wishes him any serious physical harm.

But the moment he puts his foot on the turf in the Superdome next Sunday he becomes the enemy and we all want to see him harassed, knocked to the ground a few times, intercepted 2 or three times and sent home to contemplate retirement and the Hall of Fame.

Being from MN and a Vikes fan, obviously I was pleased with the game.

Here's my assessment of the game in general.

The Vikes dominated on the D-line. That was where the game was won. The Cowboys O-line could not do a thing with the pressure that the Purple were bringing. It also hurt tremendously to lose Adams in the first half. That was obvious by what happened when Witten was supposed to block Allen 1 on 1. Edwards was the wild card. He was AWESOME until he got hurt. The attention that Allen was getting and the pressure coming up the middle from Williams and Williams was allowing him to have a monster game. Because of the play of the line, the weaknesses in the LBs and DBs weren't exposed. Honestly, I don't think that Garrett called a bad game. They were just dominated by the Vikes D-line, plain and simple. Maybe they could have kept another guy or 2 in to block, but that would obviously limit the number of receivers out in the pattern, causing another problem...get open, because there's very few of you out there. Maybe running a few more trick/gimmick plays would have worked, but if they didn't, wouldn't you guys be that much more upset?

As for running more with Jones, remember that the Vikes have had the #1 run D in the league for 3 straight years, and then were #2 this year. Running him more may have worked, but I would not have bet that it would have worked. You have to remember that the Vikes CBs are very good against the run, as well, so running the sweeps at them may not have done what it does against other teams.

I was shocked at how this game played out, truthfully. I expected it to be a LOT closer than it was. The missed FGs hurt, but in the grand scheme of things, there were other areas that were bigger issues.

The area where I see that Dallas needs some improvement for next year is the O-line. Weaknesses were exposed there, and a lot of it is due to age. get younger there, and I think you'll be in great shape for the next few years.

My take on the late TD: Well, it was unnecessary. I'm not sure what to say about it. Stranger things have happened, and with it being the Vikes, we've seen many of them. #1 is that they have had horrible kick coverage the last couple years, though they were great on Sunday. I would have run the ball, if they were truly going to try to go for it, but at the same time, you want to try to call a successful play if you're going to do it. The game is 60 minutes long, not 57 or 58 minutes. They have to play out the entire thing. If you don't like it, then stop it. If the shoe were on the other foot, I'd be upset, but in the end, the game was still being played. If the Dallas D let up and weren't playing as hard, then would you say that they deserve their full pay for the game? Maybe Childress should have put in Jackson at that point to finish up the game. At the same time, if the game was truly over, why were Dallas starters (like Brooking) still on the field? It's just my opinion, anyways. I'm sure that if these 2 teams play next year, it will be brought up and retribution will be sought. It would just add that much more intensity to what would prove to be a good game already. :)

I don't have anything to say against the Vikings scoring that last touchdown. It's a football game and the object is to move the ball down the field until you cross the goal line.

I do find all the whining interesting especially since you don't hear any Arizona Cardinals crying about how the Saints but up 35 points in the first half. They got beat by 31 points and you just don't hear anyone crying because it was bad sportsmanship.

Depends on when, but if it were after this season, it'd be either Jackson or Rosenfels. Based on how the year went with mop up duty, I'd say it'd be Jackson. If he stays around another year, it'll depend on who's available out there.

Hard to really say...The Vikes should have been desperate going into NY, and look how poorly they played in the first half.

As for this game Sunday, I KNOW the Dome will be rockin. Moss' first game back in purple at home. He was always a beloved player here, and coming back, he will get a HUGE welcome! Not to mention how he loves to punish the Cowboys. If Faevarevravrevarevrvarevrvaevareve doen't play, or isn't going to be effective, I have a feeling that you'll see a healthy dose of AP. I honestly don't know how your run defense is this year, but he's essentially run well each game. He's been so close to breaking something big in each game (if he didn't actually do it). I would imagine that there will be plenty of play-action passes, too. Fake to AP, deep to Moss or a deep in to Harvin of Shiancoe. Our D has been playing well, despite the record and being short on CBs. Should be a good game, but obviously, I hope my Vikes come out on top. :)

Sounds a hell of a lot like the Vikes. They just didn't make enough bad plays to lose yesterday. For as much talent as they have on both sides of the ball, they just can't seem to put it together at all. Definitely not for an entire game.

For the Vikes, it's even better that everyone else in the division lost yesterday, too. :D

I believe it's possible. Packers are without a serious run threat. No Donald Driver or Finley. Bigby's back on defense so this should help a little. Pack is still pretty banged up and their offense hasn't exactly been lighting up the scoreboard this year. I still give the slight edge to the Pack simply because of the home field crowd. After watching the games today, anything can happen tonight.

At this point, I wish he would. The season is lost, we aren't trying to bring in a new coach to help us win 8 games in a row to try and make the playoffs. Jerry needs to make a point, if you come in here coaching (and playing for that matter) like trash.. you'll get thrown out like garbage.

Wade challenged that run TD in the 1st quarter.. why??? Our defense is playing like crap, they woulda just pounded it in the next play. Cost us 7 points at the end of the half.

This team drives me nuts.

I feel bad for you guys. I thought Chilly was bad (and should STILL be fired), but Phillips seems to be able to do even less with more. :(

Wade is only the face of the problem. Jerry gonna have his hands full this off season.

How great would it be if Jerry named himself head coach? :r

With many coaches he's had, he is the coach just not in name. I think he needs to leave coaching, scouting, and recruitment to someone else.

Done

I think the last straw was the dumb ass mittens he was wearing in last nights game. Hell there where women in the stands that weren't wearing gloves. He was just to soft and it showed.

So after Garrett who are we shooting for coaching next year? I'm for Gruden, over Cower. Or Ditka. ;)

Bad loss, but I bet a lot of Cowboy fans are happy Wade is gone. Don't think Cower's gonna go there. I think he'll go to Carolina if the lockout doesn't happen.

Keep dreaming brutha! Where do you keep hearing that? It's been shot down time and again. You actually think Jerry Richardson would pay what he would have to pay for a Cower type coach? Not a chance. All the media in Charlotte have already said and reported that Cower has said he loves tv and he wouldn't come to Charlotte anyway. He no longer has any ties in NC.

Reports are, and have been and continue to be, that he will hire another D or O coordinator and not an established coach. Why? Money.

Back to current topic:

What the hell took JJ so long? And why would he hire Wade to begin with? He has always blown goats as a head coach.

Either way, Fox hopefully will be gone the same way Wade went soon. Although Fox did kinda get set up this year, unlike Wade, who was set up to succeed.

Why Phillips made it this long is beyond me.
That's only one point...
Two weeks ago, Jones says Wade is his coach for the season. Three days ago, he reiterates that comment.
Jerry Jones is the emperor of douche, period.
It says a lot about him. Who wants to come coach in an organization headed up by the supreme commander of lying douches?
Dallas is loaded with talent. Jerry Jones sucks every ounce of class out of that organization. Period. He makes me wanna puke, and I love watching Dallas lose almost as much as I love watching the Browns lose.
I still feel for the fans and the club. I don't think any club deserves Jerry Jones.

I don't think Jerry's all that bad. He does put an endless amount of money into his team. He did lie about Wade Phillips but I think that he might have been honest about his previous comment, but then Monday was just the straw that broke the camel's back. I've done that before: gone back on what I said b/c extreme things happen after I've already stated the fact.

At least Jones puts money into his team, rather than cut big time before a potential lockout, like Jerry Richardson does.
