I read that 5 Vegas is exclusive to Cigars International (and affiliates), but now I have seen them being sold at another online shop not affiliated with CI. Whats the policy with cigars that are exclusive. Can anyone with a tocab, license buy and resell or is the online shop breaking some agreement/rule/law?

CI does own the name but they also have a wholesale division that sells them to other internet vendors as well as to b&m's.

I was wondering that as well when I saw a 5 Vegas ash tray for sale at one of the local B&Ms

It's funny. I dis liked the Vegas 'A' and I tried and really hated the 5 classic,It tasted like dirt and salt to me. Is there any good 5 Vegas out there? So far I hated the ones I smoked.

how long did they rest?

You should try a Gold, they're mellow but real tasty

The A's were in the humi for 2+ months and I was told they are better with 6 months on them but I gave them away anyhow to make room for other smoke I had coming. The 5 I got from a trade and have no idea how long he had it.

I will try the gold when I get a chance.

I had the same experience. I read all these great reviews about the Series A, picked one up in a sampler, smoked it pretty much OTT and was very disappointed. I mentioned it in another thread here and got a suggestion to let it rest for a while.

The boxpressed Apex is the best IMHO!!!

For those who have not, try the 5 Vegas Limitada's from various years, as well as the Shortys!!!

Haven't had a bad 5 Vegas yet, although I have yet to try the new Cask and the recently released Relic.

Love the Apex! 2-3 months good, 6+ they are better, although I have had a couple bundles that were great OTT too, so who knows.

Haven't had a bad 5 Vegas yet.

Me neither, the Series 'A' is my favorite but also keep a stash of classics, golds, and Miami's around. For the price of these cigars they are a no brainer for me.

I am interested to try the new Relic series.

The Gold is excellent if you like a mild smoke that has some flavor. The Nuggets are the perfect early morning smoke with a cup of coffee. They make great handouts to inexperienced smokers, it won't kill 'em.
The other lines need lots of rest. Don't toss 'em if they've only rested a few months. Most become pretty good.:2

Miami torp is my fav 5 Vegas but the Gold goes good with coffee. Better than a CAO Gold imho.

The original cask strength was pretty good. I have a 5'er of the new ones resting. I'll probably wait until spring to give them a try. They were really squishy when they arrived.

I'm interested in how the Relic is going to turn out. Maybe we can get a box split going once they come out.

Thank you for your response.

After I bought a sampler that had the gold and classics I went ahead and bought my very first box of cigars not too long ago. I got the gold robustos and it came with a torpedo sampler of classic and golds. My newb pallet loves them and since I dont have a stock pile I never had a chance to let them rest first. They just keep getting better and better the more they rest, I'm def. gonna get some more so I can really let them chill, hopefully for months. Till then I got some Flor de Olivas that come in tomorrow. What can I say, 5 Vegas Golds and FdO's, not quite what you'd call a collection but I'm loving every minute of it. Anyway, thanks to everyone for putting up such great information and reviews.

Gotta say, I've only tried the Limitadas, and that only from 2006, but they are very tasty. Pulled a couple out last month and they were delicious. Much better than when they went in about 2 years ago.

Seems I first saw 5 vegas at a "shmoker's outlet" place 4 yrs ago. I've got 2 cask I'm aging and tried a Relic. Def. needs some time, but has great potential to be amazing.

Love the Golds for an early day smoke. I found they are a bit harsh OTT, but I had some that rested for almost year, (got buried at bottom of humi) and they were nice and smooth.

The A's are good too with a nap. One of my favorite "dark" cigars.

Miami's are just fantastic. The first few I smoked tasted and smelled like chocolate. The first one I clipped, I would have sworn I just opened a Hershey bar. I have noticed with a nap, the choco is not strong, but they are great smokes.

The Classic is hit and miss with me. Some harsh, some good.

Haven't had Cask. Have some Limitada's sleeping and can;t wait to try the Relic.

I am just breaking into a box of Series A that I had bought about 4 months ago and they are mighty tastey especially for the price ( I scored them on the devil site) I forsee having to order another box in the near future. I have only had one Gold and it was very nice as well, I do agree it would be an awesome morning smoke, however in the afternoon it was nice as well. I have a twelver of Miami knuckles resting in the humi, hmmm... I think I know what I will smoke after school :tu
