I have become a huge fan of Deschutes Black Butte Porter and also Deschutes Red Chair. Excellent beers. And a Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale goes great with a cigar!

Founders Big Lushious

I realize this goes against the idea of this thread, but I didn't enjoy it at all. Has very fruity notes to it (raspberry) and I tend to not care for fruity beers.

Just my

Had my first hopslam of the season last night, normally not too big into the extra hoppy stuff but I found this to be well balanced. I definitely enjoyed

For me it was slightly different - fruity beer can be ok but Big Lushious had this intense "fake fruit" flavor. In fact if I could just place it, it seems like the exact flavor from some candy I had once in the distant past.

I threw out half the bottle despite the steep price.

I, on the other hand, choked it down because of the steep price I paid at a bar.

I have two left of a six pack of quite possibly the best named beer ever:

Sweet Baby Jesus from Du Claw Brewing Co.

It is a chocolate and peanut butter stout. I felt a little to heavy on the PB. the flavors overpowered the stout base IMHO. not bad at all though. Worth a try if not just for the name. did I mention how I loved the name of it?

I agree that the name is neat, but that's as far as I go.

I was gifted a bottle this past summer and I couldn't get past a few sips. I personally thought the brew was aweful and dumped it out on the ground.

Had a Stone Brewing Arrogant Bastard the other night. I had forgotten how good that beer is.

I usually enjoy a Guinness. Recently, I've tried and enjoyed Samuel Adams Cold Snap and Escape Route from their seasonal collection. The Crystal Pale Ale I found alright but have never enjoyed the Boston Lager.

Anyone ever had Utopias? I had the opportunity to have some a few years ago at a family Christmas Party and it was excellent. Tasted more like a sweetened whisky than beer.

Picked up some Troegs Nugget Nectar, Bells Two Hearted and Firestone Walker Velvet Merlin recently. Thumbs up for all three!

Also picked up a growler of Smuttynose Zinneke that I plan to enjoy over the weekend. When tasting it, it seemed like it would go great with a cigar. Hopefully it's not too cold to test that theory.

Currently, a Samual Adams Rebel IPA. Decent taste.

Yesterday, a Stone Go To IPA. Nice session ale. Low alcohol. Medium to long finish on the grapefruit flavor. Wondering if Stone is using hop oil for flavoring at the end of the boil.
