Default Broken lighters!

Does anyone know where I can send lighters to be fixed? I have a couple of Colibris, a Blazer PB-207 and an X-tend that have all crapped out on me recently. Not sure why I'm having such bad luck with lighters lately.

Any help with phone numbers/addys would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Have you tried using a different fuel in them? If a lower quality fuel is causing them all to stop working, sometimes a much more refined butane can bring them around.

Do they spark or it is fuel?

Try using compressed air to blow out the nozzle... What kind of fuel are you using?

You might try messing with the screw that adjusts the flame. If its sparking that sometimes will help. Also, you can try putting in the fuel backwards, through the flame part, that will help clean clogs.

If a Blazer is out of warranty, Eric, you are better off buying a new one rather than paying $26 and the postage to get it repaired.

Someone mentioned not cross posting our threads from CS here due to ownership.. Is there a thread listing details on that rule? Is there anything wrong with posting links to threads over there? I would like to move my lighter fix thread over here but don't want to ruffle feathers. When I have more time I can redo the procedure with a new lighter I suppose.

Here is a link to a thread that will help you fix the Colibri and Xikar lighters. If that linkage is a no no I understand.. I haven't had a Blazer break on me yet. I would actually be willing to try to fix it an photograph the process with yours if you are willing to let me try. PM me for my addy if you want me to try.

I have been using isobutane cartridges from backpacking stoves to fill my lighters lately to great success. I will be adding that info to the new thread too I suppose.

From our perspective your words are ... well your words. Post them wherever you wish. I'd love a suit where "another site owner" tried to sue us because you chose to post your words here and there and they postulated ownership of them. Life gets boring and that would be fun. But it will never happen. If others started posting your (well technically his since he owns their placeholder now) words ... that might be an issue.

RE lighters. Try purging then. Hold them in your hand and let them heat up. Bleed them out for as long as you can hear noise. MIght take 3-4 minutes. Refill and wait for it to warm up again.

Almost every time this works for me.
