Personally, I think they just needed to get old enough. I remember how cheap they were, got 3 boxes. I'd smoke one here or there, and then like 5 years after I got them, they just opened up. I smoked 'em like crazy because they were a "cheap" smoke. I have a very few of my last box left.

06 or 09 (sorry I misplaced the date) Avo Heritage Lancero - thanks to RevSmoke!! Smoked wonderfully, smoother than the younger Heritages I've had yet maintained all of the rich flavors
