Default Re: Quiting smoking - e-cigs

My BIL just played this game, Devan.
He had fun and he now uses it to save from having to go out in the cold so much, but it did absolute zero to stop him from smoking.
Last weekend I watched him stand outside shivering in his tshirt smoking a Winston, so apparently it doesn't even work very good for avoiding standing in the cold.
I hope you get far better results, and I wish you all the luck in the world. Quitting smoking is a b1tch.
On a positive note, the ecig that Greg got, he could get a bunch of flavors. Some were really nice. He could also get stuff at ebay to crack the cartridges and refill them with juice which saves tons of money. If you stick with it, that might be something to look at.
Excuse me if everyone already said all this, I didn't read the thread. My apologies, I just didn't have time right now. I'll check in later and see how you're doing.

I think they can be a great help if someone is serious about quitting. I've seen both sides of the coin for people who try them, and I think the main difference is the desire to actually quit. At least with the ecig's they give you nicotine which is the main 'addiction' of smoking, but there are definitely other factors to smoking real cigs that are hard to give up. Good luck Devan!!

While some prospective quitters triumphed with the aid of E-cigs, many failed due to lack of motivation. Thus, having a strong wil should be the first consideration. Good luck, Devan!

ive been using a e-cig for about 6 months now. while it doesnt give you that real smoke feeling it does help with cravings. ive found that some of the guys at work who use a e-cig have a tough time getting use to the fact that you dont have a "visual" to tell you when you are done cause there is no ash and the cig never gets shorter.

little things like that i think plays with peoples minds and might be the downfall to the e-cig.

i keep mine in my cop car now and with use it time to time. however i will have a real cig everynow and then too.

so for me did i quit.............kinda 1-3 cigs every 4-5 days compared to a pack and a half a days is alot better. ive cut cigs out of my home life and like i said a few here and there at work to pass the time or socially should be ok.

good luck man!!!!!

so we are what 2 months later. Other then this last week in which i lost my battery, so i had maybe 5 cigs. I have quit smoking, still defiantly addicted to nicotine but im ok with that. Prior to losing my battery i hadnt had a single cigarette in a month. I think this is a success for me
