Don't misinterpret my post about Swept Away. It just gives you opportunity to be healthy. it is smack on 7 mile beach, with plenty of bars and wonderful service. I would stay at Swept Away or Couples Negril. If you go to Swept Away, ask for a man they call Elvis.

You should also look into Runaway Bay (they have a sick Hedo there), it's a bit closer to many of the attractions but not in the middle of dumpy Ocho Rios.
I have been to Hedo III. It is nice and one helluva party. I wasn't happy with the hopspitality compared to couples. If you are looking for that kind of party then Hedo is it, but if you want to be catered in a 5 star fashion for Jamaica, then I recommend Couples.

What's the protocol on wearing jewelry down there? Is it safe for a woman to wear her jewelry and a man to wear his?

Sorry for the thread jack.

My wife was asking if she should leave her wedding rings behind. I wasn't sure and now WE know.

FYI. I lost mine at Swept Away while snorkeling. I had employees jumping overboard searching, but no avail. Good idea to leave them. Here is a good idea passed on to others who have been there.

Go to Wally World and buy some cheap rings for the sentimental value for the trip. Noone will know except you guys, and you keep your investment safe.

has anyone ever flown there with pipes and backy? I don't want to get jacked up at customs over a bag of escudo or 965.

Customs over there is too busy with appliances and DVD players to care about anything else. As for your jewelry, you're more likely to lose it than for someone to steal it.

I went down with 28 cigars, humi beads, cutter, and they were more worried about my gel pack for my insulin. if you are on the main strips then you won't have to worry about getting robbed. they defiantly don't want the police coming around as the check stops had MPK5's. we walked around with our wedding bands on and no one even glanced at them. most places you will go will have security guards just to keep the rift raft out. have fun
