Not that it couldn't be done, but to do this you'd need to have a lip that stands proud of the glass, which you should have. I used Mod Podge or whatever it's called to glue the bands down, you do need to act quick and be accurate as it dries pretty quick and makes the bands very moist and they tear easily. Once all the bands are in place, let the adhesive dry over night. The I used a two part epoxy called Mirror Coat made by System Three. It's pretty simple to use, the only caution I'd have is bubbles of air that will release into the epoxy from where the glass top sits in it's dado. The bubbles do pretty much self pop and be sure you have your humidor on a very level surface. You may use some of the Mod Podge glue to seal the area where the glass goes inside the lid, (does that make sense)?

If you want to tackle it, and have questions, just PM me.

I did these for myself as well for my travel humidors:

Those look really cool! I'm not sure I'm ready to cover the tops of my desktops . . . well, maybe one. But I could definitely do that on my travel boxes.

How did I miss this thread? Great humidor! Nice craftsmanship, and I like the seeded glass.

The seedy glass really looks different in pics. Seeing it live makes all the difference. Just enough distortion to break up the lines but you can still see what each box is inside.

LOL, I knew it was you man, how many rgrecco's can there be anyway! I'm doing good, not really, the layoffs are starting to take a toll. But summer's here, been riding a lot, over 1200 miles so far, not bad being as I've not done a rally yet. What about you, did you make the Spring RNR?

Nope... Didn't make the Spring RNR...

Expecting my first kid in July... So I been busy working trying to stash away as much cash as possible... Haven't been riding much either...

Its looking like the ONLY rally I will make this year is MAR III... Hope the turn out is decent... I wanna try to make the FALL RNR but it isn't looking promising because I don't think my wife would be happy being left home alone with a 3 month old...

Only time will tell though...

Never been to MAR and I know this year for me it's not even in the plans, I've got TOTT which is in Des Moines this year...that's WEIRD! Then Sturgis in August and the fall RNR. Hopefully I can pull the trigger on all three, if not, I'm gonna have to pass on the RNR, I hate to miss seeing all that family, but I can't miss TOTT for obvious reasons and Sturgis...well, that's just Sturgis.

Wow...I absolutely love that first humidor. Well, I love all of them, but that first one is exactly what I'm wanting. I know the "display" layout limits the storage space, but I kind of want it as a display piece

Anyway, love the work man!

Thanks folks, it is what I do for a living. I'm a woodworker at Palmer Johnson Yachts in Sturgeon Bay WI. And no...I've not yet got to build a humidor for one of our boats!
