Sometimes everything falls in line for a good practical joke. Today was the day here at my office

I work in an office doing IT and we get our laptops upgraded every 3 years. My Team lead was next up for a new laptop and it arrived by FedEx while he was in a meeting. We sign for it and get an idea. I grabbed the oldest test laptop I could find which was a 7+years old and about as thrashed as could be. Cut open the bottom of the box and switch laptops. Reseal and flip over. All looks legit.

Team lead gets out of his meeting with our manager and comes back to his desk. Psyched up for a brand new machine. Opens up the box and gets this lump of coal instead of shiny new toy. All kinds of WTF? What is going on? Is this a joke?

We finally gave him the new one when our manager started to call the department that sets up the new laptops. The payoff was a riot and the whole team was just about in tears including Manager and Team Lead.
