I thought it was just me and my curse for lighters, but the three I ordered worked great for a few days and now they are dead. I just need to stick with BICs.

Jetline triple torch. $10 at my local shop and it has worked flawlessly for almost a year now. In fact, it's outperformed all the expensive Xikars I've owned over the years. The only issue has been the little retaining pin that holds the flip open cover on fell out within a month, but that's been it.
