Thanks for the reviews. Historically I've always loved smaller RGs so lanceros, PCs ect have always been my thing. Lately I'm digging the larger RGs though for some reason. I still love a good Lancero though!

Kristoff Corojo Limitada lancero (7.5" X 40)

This is, I believe, the first Kristoff cigar I've ever smoked. All the Kristoffs I've seen on auction sites and at B&Ms have been way too fat for my liking, so I was surprised to find these lanceros at a B&M recently.

Nice looking, deep brown wrapper with a nice sheen. Pigtail cap and shaggy foot (I think those look cool). Wrapper has a very distinct floral aroma. Heavy in the hand and a good draw.

First few draws are earthy, with that floral aroma coming through on the finish. About half an inch in, it starts settling into a fairly typical medium to full-bodied corojo wrap cigar. Spicy, a bit of bite in the nostrils.

A few inches in, the floral flavor makes a return. Large smoke volume. Nice smoke so far. Slow and even burn with only one correction a few minutes after lighting.

I enjoyed this cigar quite a bit, but it wasn't a mind blower. For the price (about $8/stick by the box) there are other cigars that I like more.

Liga Privada Unico Serie L-40 (7" x 40)

I don't buy Liga Privadas very often cuz they are usually out of my price range, even at auction prices. But I was on vacation and stopped at a tobacco shop that had a pretty impressive walk-in for a cigarette and vape joint.

This is a GOOD smoke, man. Very well constructed (I have almost never had a DE cigar with construction problems). No major twists and turns in the flavor, but deep flavors of coffee and unsweetened cocoa. Nice aroma coming from the foot. These are a definite winner and probably a box buy when I get my annual bonus.

Have a few of these resting. Absolutely love them.

Interesting, i wasn't a big fan of the L-40's, but I love just about every other LP. I did smoke my way through the box, but I've yet to buy any more.

Just finished another CBOM (Cigar Bundles of Miami) Tampa Blend. Excellent smoke! Slow, even burn, medium-full "strength", nice flavor, nice aroma coming from the foot.

Don Pepin Garcia Blue lancero (7.5" x 38).

I've had a quite a few bad experiences with DPG stuff in the past few years; so many in fact that he's about to go on my 'do not buy' list.

Wow...another disappointing cigar from Pepin. Decent until about halfway, then a very noticeable ammonia/chemical flavor. I think I'm gonna have to put ol' DPG on the list. A sad day.

Oliva Serie V lancero (7" x 38)

Oliva as a company has fallen out of favor with me in the past few years. Too many bad experiences with poor construction/off flavors. But because they used to be one of my favorite cigar makers, I had to give the V lancero a shot. This cigar has been resting nekkid in the humi for about 6 months.

Nice wrapper, draw a bit tight but tolerable. This cigar was really nice, with a flavor that is distinctly different from the other sizes in the line. I may have to snag some more of these.

Thanks for the review, Mark. Glad they have at least one in the line you can still enjoy.

I've had good luck with the V lancero's. But then again, the box i'm smoking is probably 5+ years old.

Leaf by Oscar maduro lancero (7 x 38).

Always thought these were a gimmick cigar (wrapped in a tobacco leaf instead of cellophane). But a BOTL told me a while back that they were actually really good, so I grabbed a fiver from the Famous auction site.

Nice wrapper, well-rolled. Typical medium-bodied maduro flavors with a very noticeable anise flavor on the finish. Decent burn with only a few minor corrections. Not much nuance in the flavor.

A decent cigar, but nothing I would buy again.

These are 6.5 x 40 and called panatelas found here:

https://www.cigar.com/p/caldwell-90-...igars/2023042/

The panatelas are seconds of the La Barba Reds.

These are very good--virtually identical with the La Barba Red firsts imho.

Just try some--you can thank me later.

I've mention them before but if you want a lancero with some age, with a great price, check out Crafted by Casa Fernandez at JR's. Been getting them for about a year and ALL bundles have had wonderful, dark, yellow cello.

PE "Farm Rolled" lancero (7.5" x 38)

I've tried a few of the other sizes in this line and they have been good, but not great. But when I saw they had come out with lanceros, I had to snag a bundle.

I was disappointed to find that these are short filler cigars. The flavor is actually pretty good, but they burn fast and are kinda squishy. They probably use the scraps from the other sizes to make these.

The Farm-Rolled lancero will be a one-time purchase.

Illusione Holy Lance Candela (7.5 X 40)

It's been...I'd say close to 10 years since I smoked a candela wrap cigar. Got this one in a lancero trade I did on C-Bid.

This is honestly one hell of a cigar. I was expecting a strong grassy flavor. It is present, but the complexity of the blend keeps the grassiness in the background. First half of the cigar is pretty complex, with some mild spice and a surprising flavor of unsweetened cocoa that comes and goes. Second half, I'm getting a distinct floral flavor through the nose and on the finish. The aroma coming from the foot is really nice. Mild side of medium "strength".

This cigar surprised me. I can honestly see a box purchase happening.

Muestra de Saka #NLMTHA lancero (7 x 38)

Got this one in a lancero/lonsdale trade on C-Bid.

Not much flavor at first, a woodsy finish. About 1" in, a nasty chemical aftertaste comes in. This is a bit comical to me, since the only other Muestra de Saka cigar I've tried had the same issue. I pitched this one pretty quick.

EDIT: I just looked up this cigar. $120+ for a box of 7? HAHAHAHA muthaf*kka please...
