I actually didn't know how the accident happenned at all. I was sitting there when suddenly, to me, the bike just took off like a bat out of hell, with me hanging on for dear life trying to keep it rubber side down and under control with the bike swinging wildly underneath me. Finally I lost it and down it went, smacking my head pretty hard off of the pavement. Plenty of witnesses who got me out of the middle of the road, and it was only then that I learned what happenned, the guy not only hit me, he was literally pushing me and the bike down the road in front of him. I I had gone down right away he would have just crushed me, just run right over the top of me.

: I had my head gear on, or I'd be gone.

I had a heavy leather motorcycle jacket on, and motorcycle pants which save me from some serious road rash.

I had on heavy leather motorcycle boots, with steel toes. At some point my leg must have been trapped under the bike because on my right boot toe the leather is completely gone, and about half of the steel, just ground right away. If that had been my foot in sneakers, I probably wouldn't have a foot right now.

End of the story, much confusion, police, ambulances, back boad, neck brace, clothes being cut off, iv. drips, x rays, yada yada yada. I'm banged up, my shoulder and left thumb are screwed up, but they've sent me home and it could have been so much worse.

Guys, even if you don't have to wear it, wear your gear.
Wow......that is nuts.

SO happy to hear you are okay Vic. That's just so scary.

Rolled Spiff out for a bath today. Thought I'd post a few pics to keep this thread alive.

My favorite... people always ask "What's wrong with your bike?" Gotta love the chatter of a dry slipper.

Waiting for the late evening so I can go out for a ride. Too hot to ride in the middle of the day.

You have great taste in bikes, Hal. I think we're both on the same wavelength with Ducati superibkes and KTM supermotos. I just need a big a$$ touring bike and I'll be all set.

What would you get?

Was at the shop the other day and was really checking out the new 1198 Duke and the 1000RR BMW.... Both are beautiful bikes.

Due to cost considerations I'm kinda thinking Honda ST1300 with bags, heated grips, all that jazz. I'm too young for a Goldwing.

That's the one I REALLY want but don't have 20k to burn. I seriously thought about selling the 996S, the KTM, and my F150 but I still wouldn't have enough for the new Multi 1200S. ry

Would LOVE a Duc... However, I'm selling my Suzuki because I'm going to get myself killed or arrested on it.

Sounds like you are ready for trackdays or schools. Any decent tracks close to you?

Loving this. I actually am looking at picking up a late 70's/EARLY 80's bike to wrench and learn on. After threatening a car project, my wife suggested it. Seems like a good idea since I don't have any skills and will surely incapacitate whatever I work on for a while.

And... I just got the post w/ your accident. Glad to hear you came out of it in some semblance of one piece. Was this what you were riding?

I actually went 4 weeks without driving a car in June. Seemed strange the first time I got back in one for my trip to bama for the fourth. Oh well, I didn'rt need the tires on the car flat spotting Be safe out there, the cagers are still doing their best to take us out.

No kidding! A couple weeks back I almost had a cop run me over. When I flashed my brights at him (so he would see me) he gave me a dirty look? Bastage.
