Drum Smoker

Last weekend I sold two other grills in our garage sale. The drum smoker will move to the barn soon and the medium BGE will go on the back porch when it is finished.

BTW... Steve's Lang is one of may absolute favorite cookers and I will own one someday!!!

Keep an eye on Craigslist. Both of mine are older models and I had to replace a few parts but I picked them up cheap.

They are an unreal cooking machine!!!

Here is mine (well, mine is black) but it sits covered as CA law prohibits BBQs in apartments. You know how bad it sucks to use the oven to cook a steak?

Prospector wins! Geez!

I have a Standard Weber kettle

I did install a bi-metallic "Tell-Tru" thermometer in the lid. It works very well. I rotated it so that 250 is pointing straight at the center of the lid handle. This helps check the temp "at a glance".

Thanks for the compliment. I built it myself - all except for the tile job which I contracted out (just a tad beyond my capabilities).

Wow, that's a beautiful patio Prospector! Very nice setting and view!
With all that space, I would love to see a wood burning brick oven there for baking pizza and bread.

Just got a new grill and smoker so I thought I would bump this old thread. I actually need to thank Casa Dooley especially and all the other BOTL on here who posted so many comments on grills and smokers. Gave me a lot to work with.

In the end I went with the Chargriller because of a stupidly good discount. And I got all the accessories for less than $25 too!
