I've done it on a couple clear havanas... no problems here. If the mold goes back a ways, that could be an issue.

I lopped off a chunk of a partagas de partagas #1 a few weeks back, couldn't tell the difference.

would proximity to humification promote molding of a cigar? I looked at the other cigars near the beads and none of the other cigars have a problem

I can. Also, different kinds of tobacco mold more easily than other kinds. I know that CT Broadleaf Maduro wrappers mold about the easiest.

As long as the mold is white and the cigar smells ok, no problem!

Could it have always been there and you just missed it, Kevin? Mold cannot grow at those rh %'s.

its possible thats its been there a while i dont dig to the bottom of that humi all that often but my beads spilled and i had to clean the up and there it was fluffy whiteness on the foot. my beads are 65 but i like to keep the humi closer to 60. the odd thing is that it was only on the foot and not under the ceader wraper at all. ive pulled that set out of the humi

I agree. I have had one cigar mold a while back. Never smoked it, but I have wondered what would be the consequences if I had???

We are exposed to spores all the time, we inhale spores in every breath we take! This kind of mold will not grow on people and the amount of spores inhaled is so negligible that I have a hard time believing that exposure from an occasional mouldy cigar could have any additional health effects compared to what's already in the smoke.

Just my 50 öre (about 7 cents today )
