Default Identification of a S.T. Dupont Lighter

It's a lighter of my grandfather's, which was recently found when cleaning the house. I'm unsure of what make and model (Ligne, or whatnot) the lighter is, and was wondering if you guys could help me out!

The back of it reads:
"S.T.Dupont
PARIS
MADE IN FRANCE
[Gas Canister Screw]
20µ
[Seal]
FA6923"

The story is that my grandfather was given it by an Arabic Sheikh in the early 1970s. That's about all I know of it.

I was curious if anyone could enlighten me on the specifications of the item, and an idea of the price range it could be sold in. I haven't been able to find any concrete information on it, as I haven't found an image that matches it exactly.

Thanks all!

Great looking lighter, why sell it if was your grandfather's? Probably worth more as a keepsake

That lighter is trash. You should just go ahead and give 5 sticks to take it off your hands

Its pretty sweet. You should hang on to it. Good conversation piece

What you have there is a vintage ST Dupont Diamond Head Ligne 1 lighter (small version). The gold finish is no longer made that Im aware of but the silver or Palladium versions are.

From Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Dupont-Silver-.../dp/B0049CG16C
$500+

If you plan to use it, get it serviced by ST Dupont or another lighter rebuilder. These lighters leak very easily. Make sure to also buy a metal fluid converter or you'll be spending a lot of money of ST Dupont proprietary light fluid. Inside the filler cover if a colored ring which is unqiue for each line of lighter. Service is around $90
