It wasn't even a humidor he had made a cigar saver. Either it was a really expensive cigar he was trying to save or he was just cheep Either way why the hell would you make a cigar saver out of a huge PCV pipe A nice metal one that fits in your pocket for $12 on the web at tons of places!

From the article ...

Quote:
Agents found the nine-inch PVC pipe and two torch-style lighters in the man’s carry-on luggage. Inside the pipe was a half-smoked cigar.

Despite the ostensibly harmless nature of the item, the security agents made the man surrender it because it “could too easily be perceived by the flight crew and other passengers as a pipe bomb,” the agency said.

Replica weapons of any kind are prohibited by TSA rules.
Probably rightfully confiscated - not to mention that torch lighters are also verboten.

Biggest issue for me, though, is the half smoked cigar.

Yeah, had I been that TSA agent I would have flagged this also. If it looks like a pipe bomb, and smells like a pipe bomb, it might just be one.

I used to work with a guy who brought in 1 big machine made Churchill every day. He’d step outside, take a few puffs and put it back in its tube. Lasted all day and the smell made me want to retch!
