Some OLD whiskey and tequila!

Found these two bottles in the back of my mother in laws wine cabinet. What are the odds they are any good? I know I can crack them open and try but I'd rather not. What do you think?

Canadian Club - 1984

Sauza - 1978

I am sure the dates don't mean anything, but I posted them anyways.

Neither of them are very good to begin with. I couldn't imagine them being good now.

Although I know nothing about aging liquor, all of my bottles get at most a week of "age" on them.

My understanding is that liquor does not continue to age once bottled. What you had in 1979 & 1984 is basically what you have today. So bust 'em open and let us know. Or buy some current production for a comparison.

Hard liquor neither ages or deteriorates with time. If the seal is not great you may notice some evaporation but otherwise it should be fine.

I don't know about 70's version,but Sauza Conmemorativo is a "higher end" bottle these days.
I'm no connoisseur but I wont turn my nose up at it.

What can I say, I really enjoy the liquor I buy. I definitely follow the quality not quantity rule, unless I'm mixing drinks then I don't waste the good $hit.

I kind of figured it wouldn't "age" but seeing as how I didn't know for sure I didn't want to jump the gun and look like an arse.

My vote is mix it up with something you like and see for yourself. Then report the findings

As for the Canadian club, give it to someone you really don't like
