Default Newbie Humidor Question

Can you over-humidify a new humidor to the point of warping?

http://www.cigarsinternational.com/p...text=whitetail

My last one wouldn't hold humidity above 63% so they sent me a replacement.

I don't want to risk sponging it down so I'm using the shotglass method. Is this too much? I'm anxious to get my cigars out of the ziplock bag.

Will the DryMistats attempt to regulate 70% RH? Should I take them out and leave just the shot glass and puck with distilled water only?

What type of humidity gauge are you using? I had a similar problem with my analog gauge. It didn't matter how much juice I added it wouldn't go over 60%. When I bought a digital reader I finally saw that I was actually over humidifying my humidor.

Agreed, the analog on my humi is locked on 80, digital says 67 and sunny.

Western Caliber III. No calibration required. Checked it against a Humidipak 75.5% Calibration Kit. At 24hrs it read 75%, and at 35hrs it read 76%.

However, that's in the zip-lock bag with my cigars right now so just the analog during seasoning, which I've calibrated about 3 times with the Humidipak and got it pretty close to my digital, although not as responsive/reliable.

I would never base anything off of an analog.
