Ashton VSG (ESG's are good too, but I don't think they are worth the extra money)
AVO Domaine
Camacho Triple Maduro
Don Pepin Series JJ Maduro
L Flor Double Ligero
La Vieja Skull and Bones
Liga Privada T52
Montecristo White Label
Oliva V
Padilla 68'
Perdomo Patriarch, followed by Champagne for a mild cigar and Lot 23 for a golf cigar
Rocky Patel Decade
Padron 64 Anniversary
Tatuaje Miami

There are so many other good cigars that I didn't list, but if you haven't tried any of the above, my list should get you started!
Great starter stick there

Try the Perdomo Lot 23 in connecticut and maduro wrappers!!!

It would suck to buy a box of something you hate. I agree on the 5 packs. And if you have a local B&M, shop around there too. Some stuff isn't easy to find on the bidding sites.

Illusione and Liga Privada are probably probably my two most favorite brands right now. I'm suppose to be getting a box of Undercrowns for my birthday. Can't wait! La Flor Dominicana Airbenders have been hard to resist lately as well.

Everyone raves about Padron. I like them okay, but not as much as other similarly priced sticks.

Trying new things and discovering what you like is half the fun.

This will vary from smoker to smoker. My suggestion is to try all that you can try, sample a couple of each cigar, for as with any hand-made product, there may be issues with one sample every so often.

So, what do *I* think are "must smokes"?

Oliva V
Litto Gomez Diez
Litto Gomez Diez Small Batch
Padron - '64s, '26s, and regular line (I personally prefer the maduros)
Arturo Fuente Anejo (I am one who would vote against the Opus)
Coronados

These are some of the ones that I think you must try. There are others, but that's a good start.

Peace of the Lord be with you.
Arturo Fuente Rosado and Sun Grown lines
AF Hemingways - especially the Short Story

Is the Oliva V very different from the G? I hear that most people like the G but I didn't at all.

The V is a great spicy smoke, and is fuller bodied compared to the G.

Everybody says that the V is stronger than the G, that it is spicier. OK, it might be. I will say this, it is definitely smoother. and it has a great nuttiness to it.

Oh, by the way, I don't like the G - at all. And the V is my go to smoke.
