Default Edge maduro - what gives?

Last 5 or so Edge maduros I've tried have had terribly tight draws and / or very little flavor. Also noticed issues with the wrappers coming apart. These had been one of my favorites for the last couple of years - no longer. Heard rumors about changes in the blend and quality control problems in some RP lines. They may be trying too hard to get more new cigar lines on the market. Maybe should pay more attention to their mainstays.
On the positive side, these problems led me to try other brands and I've run across some real stunners that I'd not have tried otherwise. Two excellent mild/ medium strength maduros that are very flavorful and creamy with no irritation are the Cusano 18 paired maduro , and PDR Capa maduro. Also like Kristoff maduros.

The last Edge Maduro I had was about five months ago and I had no issues with it; wrapper was fine, draw was good, and taste was good. It was as good as ones that I'd smoked two years ago. But I don't smoke them very often - about three or four a year - so I can't speak to the overall consistency of the line very well.

For about a year RP Edge was my everyday cigar. In the last several months I kept giving them another try, and they kept letting me down. I don't smoke them anymore.

If you've not tried it, the RP Private Cellar robusto is a nice stick that goes well with a cup of joe in the morning

Probably the first run of them that he introduced him brand with, since that was the only batch he bought that was actually "aged."

Occasionally you will find a RP that is a great smoke. But when you go to pick up another one it will be an terrible smoke. I think his consistency and quality are the first things that suffer. I loved the edge sumatra and do to this day but they even suffer from quality and consistency.
