Yeah Burger in the Highlands and Midtown is good too. The wife and I have to hold ourselves back from going to Farm Burger too often. There is supposed to be another location opening up in Buckhead. It will probably be closer to us so there will be even more of a temptation.

As far as toppings, I used to load up on all kinds of stuff and have the messiest burgers. I guess in my old age I don't want to deal with the mess so I keep it simple. Lettuce, tomato, cheese and a little mayo. If you have a good burger, you shouldn't need many toppings.

Sauteed mushrooms/onions, bacon, mayo, lettuce, tomato, colby jack cheese, and maybe a nice bbq sauce are perfect to me. Five Guys has a great variety of toppings for their burgers.

Wow...there are definitely some interesting toppings suggested here!

I have to admit that a good burger should be able to stand on its own if made and grilled properly! That being said, I do put some toppings even on a good burger, but I'm still fairly simplistic in my toppings. Tomato if they are in season, sweet onion, ketchup, and American or cheddar cheese.

Favorite topping: Ripe tomato
Most used topping: Ketchup
No-no topping: Mayo or Miracle Whip (yuck!)
Weirdest topping: Blue cheese crumbles

Melted Mozzarella, Bacon lettuce tomato and guacamole or I like to do bacon, lettuce tomato and feta cheese if I have my choice.
Oh and I prefer my burgers be on a Martins Potato roll if we're grilling them at home.
If we are out and they have them I almost always go for the Pizza Burger, Tomato Sauce and Melted Mozzarella. Geeze now I'm hungry!!!!

I think tonight I am going to go for the ULTIMATE cheeseburger.

Ingredients:

2x grilled cheese sandwiches (these act as the buns)
half pound of 70/30
Bacon
Ketchup
Lettuce

If you don't hear from me again - it is because I died due to foodgasm.

Bacon burger with a grilled cheese for each bun:

It was awesome.

While we're on the topic of REALLY unhealthy food - here's the burger that I had 2 or 3 weeks ago - Bacon cheeseburger on a Krispy Kreme donut that has been cut in half acting as the buns.

I may die of a heart attack soon. But at least I'll die happy.

I like mine with Lettuce, tomato, Bacon and some kind of cheese. Just depends on what mood I'm in. Cheddar, Blue, Feta, Pepper Jack, ect...When I was stationed in WA we had a place called "Bob's Burgers and Brew" they have some outstanding burgers. If any of yall are in the everett or Burlington area, that's the 2 that I know of, you should look them up. Great food and a pretty good beer selection.
Thats where I started my bachelor party at, then we all went to one of the local Casino's.

I don't know about "perfect", but one of my favorites is a bacon-cheeseburger with sauteed mushrooms and onions and just a light spread of mayo, with salt and pepper. It's fairly simple, but I like the combination. This is the usual combo I get at Five Guys.

Why not batter the GC sandwiches afterward like french toast before proceeding?

I've always wanted to do the doughnut one. NOT with a KK though. A nice bar doughnut without frosting would be perfect.

Fill them with mac & cheese first, then batter and deep fry them, ala montecristo sandwich.

I love burgers no matter what is on them... but my favorite is:

1/3 pound ground brisket burger with lots of blackening seasoning grilled over a wood fire
Topped with blue cheese
Finished with a little mayo and ketchup
Served on a toasted onion roll
