Default I Microwaved a CFO #7

And liked it!

Normally I dry box my CFO's a good week before smoking them, they just seem to smoke and taste better dry. So last Saturday night I pull a CFO out of the humi and it seems a little too squishy (wet). At this point I have about 4 beers in me and figure if I can dry a slice of bread in 20 seconds using a microwave, why not try a .80 cent cigar.

Needless to say the cigar game out steaming hot and really soft. I took it outside and used the cool night air to take a few pre light draws. This cooled the cigar down quick. The cigar dried out considerably and was hard as a rock. Perfect just the way I like my CFO's.

To make a long story short the cigar tasted and burned great! I would never recommend doing this with a more expensive stick, however this seemed to work for me at the moment.

I am glad it worked out, the CFO's are great cigars, it would be a shame to waste one.

This works well for pipe tobacco. As long as microwaving the cigar doesn't soften the vegetable glue, I'd see no reason it wouldn't work for a cigar too.

Call me crazy, but I have a thing against microwaves. It's probably because I survived on Hot Pockets during college, BUT...

A microwave heats at very high temperatures. These temperatures may be hot enough to have the tobacco oils reconstitute themselves. It could also cause wet/hot spots that could cause an inconsistant burn.

If I had the option, I'd use a toaster and only give it about 130 degrees for a half hour to an hour or so. The slower you can remove the humidity, the better IMO.

Interesting! I'm always amazed at the ways members either get a cigar to a smokeable state or are crafting something which will only enhance their hobby.

CFO stands for Cigar Factory Outlet?? Made by Oliva? Hmmm, I just might have to try these since I love Oliva.
