Default Memorial Day Plans?

What do you folks have planned for the start of summer? I'll be up opening up the wife's house in the mountains, hit the cemeteries for some flag and flower placing and have 3 days of fishing and relaxing off the grid

Same as every year, call a couple friends I served with and my 'battle buddy' from basic, then have a drink to a couple friends that lost their lives in different conflicts.

Sounds like you got a great weekend ahead, Mike! The wife and I will also be putting up some flags at the cemetery. Then it's the usual stuff - ribs, booze, cigars.

The highways are pretty busy, holiday weekends I tend to NOT travel much. Usually a good opportunity to hang with local friends a little extra. Let's face it, when you need to move a body--even if it's just your own, someday--those out of town friends and family can't be counted on.

Friends of ours host an annual cook out. They put on a good spread. About 20 people are going. I am bringing cigars and a magnum of wine. Either Chinon or Rioja for wine. Not sure on the cigars yet. I been trying to clear out boxes, so maybe just bring over a box that 4-5 cigars remaining...

It's my mom's birthday. I'm hoping we celebrate at my house this year so that I can booze it up guilt free.
