My xmas present to myself - Cabinet Humidor!

Here's what I got myself for Christmas...

Stay tuned to this thread, once I get it ready, I'll put a pic of it full up.

I got a KILLER deal on it and it came with a moist-n-aire (with no foam). I've never used one of these before, but it would be cool if I could mod it to use beads or something...

The only bad thing is that it's previous residence was at a head shop, so it smells a bit like patchouli (which is a scent I detest). I'm hoping that goes away soon so I can fill it with my smokes. Right now the door is open and there's a fan in there... any tips on making the smell dissipate quicker would be appreciated.

One of the coolest things is that when I showed my wife (prior to buying it) her exact words were, "Oh, nice... that's exactly what I was thinking you should get for your cigars... it looks nice!". I adore that woman.

To get rid of the smell, try putting some Arm & Hammer in there

Yeah, a couple boxes of baking soda for a few days should work that stink out.

Really nice.....They are pretty good unit for the money... Can't go wrong with that Cabinet... Should be fun filling her up...

Very nice - I've always liked the way that model looked.

And another vote for baking soda. Stick an open box or two in there for a while.

Baking soda would work. You could also do quick once-over on the inside with some fine sandpaper. That would get the Spanish Cedar scent going again.

*Just remember to wear a surgical mask while sanding.*
