A little heart broken on Jody Shelley being traded to the Rangers. Brad Staubitz better become the new ass kicker.

Don't like the way the Sharks ended the Olympic break period tonight against the Sabers.

I was talking to Scott Nichol's wife today. Scotts son Hayden is on the same team as my son. She was saying that he knew it was comming. The team made the effort to find him a home and not release him on waivers. Speaking of that did you see Chechoo got put on waivers and Cleared them. YIKES! Only 5 goals in 61 games.

I'm glad Shelley is somewhere where he is wanted. I used to hate that guy especially after the hit he put on Brad Stuart years ago, but he became a favorite once he joined.

As for Cheech, I don't know what happened but he has become garbage. I would love to pick him up off waivers but his contract makes it impossible. I believe its 3 mil a year.

And how cool is it to be friends with Nichol's wife, I wish we had 10 of him on this team, hopefully his grit will make the playoff run more fruitfull

Shelley is a super nice guy. My niece was at the rink last year when he was hurt and stayed behind on a road trip. He got her out on the ice and let her skate with him. She got to shot on the goaltender, and he even gave her a stick and signed it. He is a really nice guy. Eirhoff on the other hand. That guy is a friggin Dbag. I was glad to see him go. I saw him pull some crap at the rink a few times.

The issue with Staubitz though is he is not a heavyweight. You are not going to see him taking on the Boogie man or Pharros etc. So now the Sharks dont have that true enforcer if the need him. Remember Brantt Myhres? Talk about a friggin goon! man I loved that guy.

As to Nichol's wife she and he are great people. He is the nicest guy off the ice, soft spoken unassuming you would never know he is an NHLer. Its great when he comes out and helps us coach the kids. We always joke around like we are giving him advice on skating Hayden is a great kid also.

Glad you got to see Whitney for VDay, Joe, but I agree,,,he will be highly sought after when the Olympics end.

Miller was great against the Sharks tonight, SJ deserved a better fate.

Hawks newest player Kim Johnnson had a goal and 2 assists in his first game, and the Hawks win with a Toews goal in the shootout.

Hawks beat the Blue Jackets 5-4 in the shootout.

One of the Jackets put a dangerous knee-on-knee hit on Patrick Kane early in the 3rd period. Troy Brouwer steps in and gives the Jacket a beatdown, and gets 19 minutes in penalties for his trouble, missing the rest of the 3rd and the overtime periods.

Coach Q gives Brouwer a reward for stepping up for his teammate and lets Brouwer shoot in the shootout....and Brouwer gets the game winner.

Hawks threw their weight around a little too.

Great Game by the Hawks. They have been playing a little bit more physical in the last 3-4 games which is good. I really like the Addition of Johnsson as well.

Storybook Gamewinner for Brouwer

Niemi looked a little soft on a couple of the goals, but it is good to enter the break on a winning streak and good note. I agree that Johnsson was a good move by Bowman.

I agree with you about Niemi...But he did pretty well in the past 2 shootouts. I still would like to see the Buff play big the whole game not just towards the end

I am guessing we might have to wait 'til the playoffs to see that again.

U.S.A. rolls on, Canada gets quite the scare, and Russia is up 1-0 early in the 3rd with Ilya Bryzgalov in net.

Tell me about it Should be a good one on Sunday.

A lot more parody on the Men's side compared to the Women's. Makes for some really great hockey!
