Default Xikar & Blazer torch lighter comparison

Xikar just came out with the Tech lighter that goes up against the Blazer Little Buddy. Thought you all might like to see em side by side:

My first impressions: I really like the look and feel of the Xikar Tech and I LOVE the lifetime warranty, (I have yet to own a Blazer that has lasted longer then 14 months, maybe just bad luck). The Xikar does not lock the flame on like the Blazer, but it does not have that pesky child safety either. They come in clean, translucent black and blue, and will run ya about 20.00 to 30.00 depending on where you shop.

Thanks Kevin!
Nice to know the Xikar doesn't have the child safety!
The safety was giving everybody fits at my Herf!

Umm I think Blazer just got beat out. The flame lock is not a big deal and the lifetime warranty does make me feel warm at night.

Maybe there's finally a lighter that'll unseat my Ronson. I'd like to get rid of the pounds of crappy lighters I have.

That is sweet. Thank you for the review!! Might have to pick one of these up. I am tired of my little single flame pieces of poo. Now to just get my hands on some good butane...

my blazer has been running fine for years (pb207) and my xikar hasn't worked right from day one. sent it back 3 times I think. Last time it came back with a letter hinting that my problems were due to user error and a can of the same butane that I've been using all along. all luck of the draw I guess.

I'm still on Blazers I bought back in 1995-96. Talk about reliability...

Looks good to me. I can't tell you how many time I've tried to show someone how the safey work on my blazer and just end up lighting it for them. Thanks Kevin.

I have to agree, I've sent a lighter back to Xikar 3 times and IMHO it's still f*cked.

Never tried Blazers though.

I've been using mine for a few days now and really like the way it looks, feels, its ease of flame adjustment , the large fuel tank and the life time warranty. Oh, and the price isn't bad either. Thats why I bought two more.
