Default Jameson black label torpedo

Jameson Cigars is an independent cigar maker that sells cigars and coffee. Brad Mayo, the president of the company, gave me a sampler of their three cigar lines, the Declaration, the Black label and the Red label. I reviewed the Red label toro and the Declaration Iniquity before, this is the review of the 6x54 Black label torpedo. The black label is a Jameson original release made from Dominican filler, a Honduran binder and a Brazilian maduro wrapper.

The wrapper is dark and oily with a few big veins. I noticed that most Brazilian maduro wrappers have big veins. It makes the cigar look manly and though. The torpedo has a sharp top and a nice band. The construction feels good. The predraw is fine and I taste a mild peppery tobacco.

I taste a full coffee flavor with wood and a little bit of chocolate. After half an inch the coffee loses its power. After an inch I taste herbs, chocolate, an earthy flavor and cedar. The structure of the flavors is dry. The chocolate flavor grows in strength after a third.

Halfway the cedar becomes the main flavor with herbs and chocolate on the background. The chocolate isn't sweet or strong, but very pleasant. The last third I taste a nice and mild spicy herbal wood flavor.

The smoke time of this torpedo is an hour and a half. I got a nice amount of smoke, although the smoke was a bit thin. The gray ash is firm. The draw is very good, just like the burn. When I purged the cigar I got a pretty big flame. This cigar is medium to full flavored and medium to full bodied.

Would I buy this cigar again? Yeah, probably.
