Default Straight ash with no marks?

I am smoking an older SLR Churchill and noticed the ash is straight with no "puff marks". What causes this? Most everything else I have smoked has had marks in the ash. The picture doesn't do it justice, but I think you get the point. It would have been a better pic before I ashed!

Hehe, I saw this before on an ACID I smoked. I am not sure what causes it. But I agree, usually smoking leaves like little black ridges from each Puff...
