Default Tobacconist University

Has anyone been through it? Is it worth while, or a waste of time?

Well worth it. I will be taking my test at the IPCPR for my CRT Certified Retail Tobacconist . You will learn a lot by reading the book as a consumer or retailer.

What does this certification do? I see there are only 34 in California and are mostly at apprentice status. The tobacconists in my area are grea and they aren't on that list.

Winstonshumidor (kevin) has been through it. He pops in and out of here. You might want to shoot him a pm. Im sure he can tell you more about it.

I know the first thing I look for is the "Certified Tobacconist" symbol when I walk into a shop.

^ You too?! I thought I was the only one! If you aren't certified, you will not get my business!

I know this thread is a few years old but I too want to earn the CCT certification. I'm in Washington State but there are no certified tobacconists here. I'm near Vancouver, BC... nope, no certified tobacconists in the whole of Canada (according to Tobacconist Univ. website). The folks at TU sympathize with me but pretty much say I'm out of luck unless I can get a local tobacco shop to become certified. What is guy to do?
