Default 2009 Tatuaje La Verite

I'll do a running review. My reviews are short anyway. Great, spicy start with LOADS of flavor. Unlike most recent LE's, it's living up to the hype. I'd say flavor score is on par with the Boris, but different. Burn has been absolutey perfect, and I opened the box and lit one right up. More to come.

Were the wrappers on the 09's better than the 08's?

Could have also had to do with the 08's, IMO, being overfilled.

What I mean is do they burst or no?

Bill, all the tobaccos are different in the 09 from what was used in the 08.

Good deal, don't get me wrong the 08's were good but out of the 3 or 4 I had they all had wrapper bursting issues

2/3 in. Burn is razor sharp, no hiint of any flaws in construction. Flavor is a 9+, a few changes here and there but I can't wax on forever like others. There's a wonderful depth to the flavor...

I don't think I had any of the wrapper bursting issues that you had, but I do remember the LV08s being very densely packed. Almost to the point of a labored draw.

The LV09s that I tried were not packed as firmly.

Yeah for me what happened was upon lighting the wrapper split I think it was a combination of a thin wrapper and way too tightly packed. Like as I was smoking the damn thing the wrapper kept splitting more. It was quite annoying. Much worse with the Robusto, the Churchill wasn't bad at all, small crack.

Adam gave me one of these months ago and it was amazing... Fast forward last week, smoked one and thought it was amazing. With the price and the wrapper issue from last years La Verite, I hope people aren't discourage from trying this years, because it's not the same cigar. I would put this cigar up for one of the best nc I've smoked in a long time.

From what I know, there were 3 different levels of pricing on this years La Verite. The earlier you pre-brought them, the cheaper they will cost. So this year, the robusto cost me 13.50 a stick rather than 17.60 (last year), but that depends on your B&M and how early they purchased the La Verites.
