Default Vegas Casino Cigar Prices

I know Vegas casinos jack-up prices for cigars, but it still gets me each time.

I am in town for Big Smoke and saw that Davidoff was doing a release party for the "Year of the Horse" cigar. I looked it up online thought it would be interesting. Davidoff has it down with a MSRP of $31.00.

So I show-up for the release party and find out the company Davidoff store with the company reps are selling them for $46 each, before tax. I thanked them for the information on the cigar and told them I would be picking a few up from a B&M that would sell them for closer to MSRP.

Side Story: saw a guy purchase over $2200 worth of cigars at Casa Fuente. The amount spent was not the crazy part, the crazy part was that was only for about 20 cigars- a 10 pack of some Forbidden X BBMF (I think) and other rare Fuente. I thought I was crazy paying $22 each for my Casa Fuente lanceros.

Yeah but that's Vegas for you. You expect to pay a little, or sometimes a lot, more for stuff. Except for buffets and novelty sized drinks that is. I haven't been there in years but I remember seein those sparkly wrappered Fuentes at Casa Fuente and thinking "No way am I paying that much for a cigar." They were that much.

$46 for a Davidoff is just insane.

Yeah, it's pretty much like anywhere and anything else where if you don't come prepared, you get gouged for the stuff you want.

I love Vegas, but didn't buy too many cigars there, too expensive. Davidoff had a store in the Cesar's Palace Mall, but I was last there 13 years ago, so who knows. My favorite cigar store in Vegas was in the New York New York, but who knows if that's still there. The only cigar store I would ever buy anything from on the strip would be at the Treasure Island cigar shop, their prices aren't INSANE. But, who am I to say I haven't been there in over a decade. I know the message board is old, but I can't find any new ones. Maybe if I comment on some of these old message boards they'll be re-ignited.
