Actually very suprised to see him leave after he took a little less to go to the wings for the cup. That said I think he may have looked at Osgood and who they have in the system and been a little uneasy.

Nice to see some bombshells going off on day 1. As usual the Sharks are nowhere to be found.
If the Hawks can make it to the Finals like the Pens and the Wings, Mike...I will gladly take the "curse".

hahahha thats true.
I sold my first round tickets this year because I knew what was going to happen. Seen it to many times before. Guess I would gladly take him to if it meant the sharks would make a finals appearance.

He's an unrestricted free agent this year, and unfortunately it doesn't look like he's being re-signed in New York.

Betts is a great PKer and cheap 4th line center, so I hope he is re-signed... but it doesn't look like it's going to happen.

Hawks picked up John Madden today! Now thats a signing I like. A gritty defensive center, I've always liked his play.

Sorry just thought some may get a kick out of this.
Pair of 992s I just picked up a few months ago.
Pair of 492s I scored on ebay for the boy which arrived today.

Going to try to get to pub skate tomorrow and see how he does. Hopefully this solves our skate issues for the moment.

Today is a sad day. Joe Sakic has announced his retirement. Always loved watching him play. He is my favorite kind of player, just a stand up guy and a great team player. I'm going to miss having him in the league.

There's a cool video on tsn.ca/nhl of sakic's top 10 moments/attributes. Very cool video.

As an Avs fan, he was one of my favorite players to watch.

On a happier note, I am excited at the prospect of seeing Kieran Millan (BU's national championship winning goalie) playing for Colorado in a few years. He is spectacular!

Anyone from Detroit know more about Hudler signing in Russia? I saw the ESPN.com story but wondered if the Detroit guys have inside info.

Joe will be missed for sure. It was great watching him for the last 14 years here in Colorado

Blackhawks GM Dale Tallon fired today. Looks like the last of the Wirtz era regime is gone.

Stan Bowman is the new Hawks GM. His biggest qualification? Scotty Bowman is his Daddy.

I didn't like DT, he seemed to make contracts that were a little too lengthy. But I agree that Stan really has no true qualifications to be GM.

hockey channel on XM basically said it was a money issue. He wasnt going to be paid well here in the NHL so he took the money. He says he will be back and believes he will play another 10 years of hockey. It seems he is a victim of the cap. Just glad to see the cap is finally effecting how the wings build there team. This is really the first year they have had to let guys go.

Hopefully the BU-BC announcement will be made in the next few days so I can go line up to get tickets
