I love women's (ir)rationale for buying cars. As soon as she said, "because it's yellow", I would have made a deal on the Toyota.

I vote for the Tacoma. I may be biased since I drive a 2010 Double Cab Short Bed but I swear by Toyotas quality. I have not had any issues thus far with my Tacoma and my wife just had a 4Runner for 4 years without a single problem other than a few BS TSBs. Sadly we replaced the 4Runner with a GMC Acadia and I only say that as I fear GMs build quality and reliability. Not my first GM product so my opinion is based on my own personal experiences. Also if you will be doing service with a dealership you can't compare the customer service and dealership experiences between the two manufacturers in my opinion as Toyota has been top notch all the way where the GM dealers seem to be hit and miss.

19mpg on average but my truck also has 32.5" tires on 18" wheels. so my tires are a bit heavier and wider than what would be considered stock.
