Default Just started to get some microbrews...

Hey guys
This section got me intersted in microbrews. I just picked out random ones since I'm new to this. Today I had a Flying Dog Garde Dog. Pretty good, I like the floral tastes ( again Im new to this, so I'm not sure what produces that after taste ) guessing it is the hops?

You are probably right about it being the hops. Hops can add aroma and flavor to your beer. That beer is light on the hops, but I still imagine if you are getting a floral flavor it is from the hop addition rather than the malts.

Enjoy the trip into the world of micros.

Kinda expensive though. But I guess your paying for the smaller brands. I will most likely support my local beers more though. I think we have some decent ones here. I know there are a few around my state too.

Just think about the fact that you are getting a product that someone has put their heart and soul into. If I was to go to any of the Vermont breweries chances are I would meet the owner/brewer that would be very educated about the beer they brew, not just the market they sell to.

Consider yourself paying extra for flavor.
