Thanks guys....Quick question for ya'll:

There's a plastic odor in the humidor. Of course it smells like cedar; but the humidification device is off gassing pretty strong. Im sure after I get it filled with sticks it'll be ok...but in the meantime I was thinking of finding some whole leaf tobacco to get it right. Thoughts ?

Thanks !

Steve, if you have a jointer, I'd run a scrap stick of spanish cedar across it a few times, catch the shavings and maybe place them in a stocking. Then hang it close to your humidifier. I'm thinking the chips in the stocking would catch the largest amount of odor, then you can toss them after a few weeks.

Hrmm...Good idea. I unfortunately don't have a jointer; but I'll do it the old-fashion way with a hand plane My power planer has a heli-head; so it just makes fine dust.
