Enjoyed a bowl of H&H Marquee Black House in my Boswell Poker. We've been having some rain and drizzles the last few days here in SoCal. Mild weather this evening on the patio and a pipe seemed to fit the bill this evening

Tonight its Peterson Sweet Killarney in a Joby Rusticated Poker
great sweet tasting smoke

On tinned tobaccos do I really need to let it sit out to dry for a bit before loading the pipe? Ive noticed the last couple of bowls are hard to keep lit and smoking hot

That is what I do if the blends are a little moist or sticky. I have noticed that GL Pease blends may be moist out of the tin but do not require drying time to keep lit. But, for everything else I usually sit them out for 30min to an hour until they are just a bit dry but not crunchy. I am assuming the pipe is getting hot as a result from puffing to hard trying to keep it lit.

This AM on the way to work Christmas Cheer (1999) in my Boswell

I'm going to have to try and lay some out and see.

Right now I'm sampling all the tobaccos that Tallman gifted me - need to slow down and learn how to smoke them
Guess I also need to find the right blend for when I don't want to wait- a non aromatic I'm guessing.

Has anyone seen a post or article on what pipe shape/size is best for different tobaccos (aromatic vs non)?

Macbarren Burley
Christmas Cheer 1999

I've now reached the point where I am experimenting with the fold and stuff method with flakes. So far so good, I have had better tasting bowls and longer burn time between lights.

Some CAO Moontrace in my Poker

Can't stand the CAO flavored cigars but is really nice. Mild flavor but can make out the hints of the vanilla and honey. The bourban isn't as strong but it is there
