Default Carbon Fiber pipe --- check this out

Here's a link to a website that shows a pipe made of carbon fiber --- it's called a "Tuvie" or some such.

http://www.tuvie.com/purisme-luxury-...bon-materials/

My most pressing question is about airflow and combustion. Since the stem meets the top of the bowl instead of the bottom how well will the tobacco burn compared to a traditional pipe? Of course being molded from carbon fiber it's entirely possible the airflow could be redirected from the bottom of the chamber to the stem up top without that showing from the available pictures. Anyway, what are your thoughts?

I guess if it sat on a shelf around all your euro sports cars and such... It's made of wood and laminated with a patch of carbon fiber, though I'm not sure how the silver coloring is achieved and I'd be hesitant to smoke the thing. I believe you still need the draft hole at the bottom for proper burn and air flow. They could still drill various holes and plug them to get some extreme angles in there but I'd be quite worried about getting a pipe cleaner through the stem. I guess if you can afford it at almost 1900 Euros they expect you to be able to replace it when it grows skanky from lack of cleanings or maybe you do a lot of salting.

On a side, their letter opener for 350 Euros is kind of sexy, but still nothing I would buy =)

Or was I just supposed to say "ooh carbon fiber... pretty!"
hehehe... Howdy Jonathan!
I hope you have a great holiday gents

Chris

Oh, I'm certainly not endorsing it. I'd have to see one of these in person before I'd buy one, and for that price I'd never buy it. I just found it interesting.

My guess is that the chamber doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the pipe and that the draft hole dips down so that it is at the bottom of the chamber.

Meh. Just a vestpocket pipe with a fixed stem and a fancy outer coating.
