Default Trader Jacks Cigars

Has anyone ever had these before?

http://www.seriouscigars.com/Trader-...s_5607_details

Anyone have a personal experience with these? They're cheap, so I don't expect it to be perfect.

Flavored is quite different from infused. Infusion is what Drew Estates does, my placing the raw tobacco in a room with the oils, etc. The tobacco acquires the oils as the leaves ferment.

Flavoring is done by adding something directly to the leaf or chopped up leaves, by spray or dipping.

These are clearly "rum flavored" much like Backwoods or "cigars" of similar description.

You don't have to do that. I just was curious what they were like and what people thought of them.

I had seen these in a B&M once, the lady was trying to swindle me into buying some of them. Not sure if they are good or not but they were not something I wanted to try at the time.

No, they are machine made or at least machine finished.

The smell of them alone, is nauseating to me.

Interesting. Wonder if there's anywhere to get singles without paying $6 for shipping. Definitely don't need a bag.

Finally got around to smoking one of these today, thanks to the generous Chutney Lovebusciut.

Disclaimer: I am a complete rookie so this isn't quite a review.

First thing I noticed was the cap looked a little haggard. This made it difficult to use a punch so I gave up and chopped it off with my Cuban Crafters Perfect Cutter.

Lit right up and only required touch-up about 30 seconds in. Good solid burn and good draw for the remainder.

I didn't taste as much rum flavor as I had expected, especially since I can smell them from across the room, in the ziplock bag. The flavor/sweetness was actually quite subtle which made it pretty enjoyable.

It ashed at about an inch and became a little flaky later on.

The only real complaint I had is the filler looked kind of crappy and that in part with trying to get a good cut resulted in me spitting out pieces of tobacco for the first few minutes.

Oh, and these things are highly aromatic. I decided I didn't even want to keep them in my 50ct humidor that houses my infused cigars, mainly all Drew Estate stuff. So I just kept them in the small bag beside my humi.

Overall, for the price of these things, I was quite surprised how decent of a smoke it was. I certainly don't think I'd buy a bag, but they're worth a shot if you like infused/flavored cigars. For $1.23 a piece (assuming a bag is purchased) they're worth it.

A few cell phone pics.

Nice review. I still have yet to try one since I made this thread. I'll eventually get around to buying a bag probably for camping. My buddies will probably smoke a couple even though they don't smoke cigars, but figured a flavored cigar would suit them better.

Yeah I think they would be good for camping and passing out to friends. I know if someone handed me a cigar that tasted like rum I'd give it a shot whether I was a smoker or not

And if they don't like it, it was only $1.23.

They appeal to my cheap tastes, i didnt realize they where rum flavored, that explains why i like them so much. i do agree that they are a bear to cut sometimes. makes me think about getting a steel cutter just to make it easier to clip them. hopefully i will have the time to get a bag of them tomarrow
