Default Palio Cutters

Just bought a Palion Cutter this afternoon (already have a Xikar). Well I no sooner get the thing home, pull it out of the case and one of the little "BOTL" decorative things falls in the yard (which i can't find). Is this common? Regardless, cut my stick very nicely. Was just curious if these fall off all the time or did I get a "bum" one?

Common, yes.
Fatal, no.

Mine has actually cut better after the BOTL inserts fell out.
Consider yourself lucky to have this happen so soon.

I've heard of them falling off before, they are just glued on. That's where Palio's warranty is king; go back to where it was purchased and they will give you a replacement on the spot.

Nice choice of a new cutter

Lost my 'stickers' a long time ago, they were falling off for some time but I seemed to find them for a while until one day they disappeared forever.

Mine have both been superglued back in... Marc (OpusEx) will gladly send you a new one if you wish to glue it in.

I have 2 Palios, and each is missing one of the BOTL shields....doesn't bother me a bit.

Absolutely. I think when the inserts fall out it unlocks some special power of the cutter.

Only if it was purchased at a B&M and not an on-line retailer.

I must be lucky. Mine didn't even have the inserts in it when I got it, but it is still the best cutter I've ever had so far.

I not only lost the inserts, but I lost the whole cutter altogether!! I think it was stolen from me at a party where I was enjoying smokes and drinks!! I never got to use it!!

I think they have to fall out on their own; otherwise it may get mad at you.
