Default Humidifier question

You know how some humidors have the kinda of slotted compartment where the rectangular plastic sponge type goes in? Is there any reason you couldn't put a mesh bag of beads in there? Would having the cedar deviders on both sides matter?

I can't imagine why you couldn't put beads in there. IIRC, you can even put cigars right up against beads, so why not?

I was wondering if the dividers would block or absorb too much moisture

Thats where I put my beads when I had a humidor like that. Had no problems.

Dividers shouldnt absorb moisture if they were seasoned with the humidor.

Now that I'm home it's a little easier to surf than my phone. Heartfeld has just what I think I want. It's an aluminum humidifier that replaces the plastic one that comes with some humidors. It's 6.5 x 2.5 x 7/8 holds up to 4oz of 70% beads. One more thing if I may. Is one hygrometer enough? Would it go in the top shelf? My humi is about 1440 ci.
