Default cobb v. briar

I have noticed several difference between my cobb and my briar pipes. My cobb burns hot. I know I am probarley smoking too fast, but it heats up quick. While my briar stays cooler. I like the longer smoke in my briar then the shorter smoke of my cobb. But for an outside, fishing pipe it will be the cobb over the briar.
I am still smoking half bowls in it to help build the cake, might start a full bowl on sunday, since I will be at a festivale at the casino for most of the day.

Default Re: cobb v. briar

I have personally found the opposite. Normally, my cob smokes cooler. I also find that the smokes last about the same time in both. Although, that might explain why my briars burn hotter Either way, they are both shorter than a cigar, which is nice with the weather change. I do find that I smoke my cob much more frequently. The reason being that I don't worry about messing up my cob. I constantly worry about messing up my briars. So, in summary, choose the pipe that works best for you
